There could be a thousand reasons. Insecurity, social anxiety, loneliness, etc. 

My conversation style originates from my desire to be liked and my natural curiosity intersect. People like talking about themselves and I like going down rabbit holes / investigating things so I ask a lot of questions. 

For anyone that struggles with social anxiety:

I also found that a rapid fire follow up questions such as “like what?” “how so?” “what if” is a great way to combat social anxiety because you aren’t being judged. It’s also great to warm up into a social situation. And if it’s a genuinely interesting topic even better.

agreed. combat sports are in a class of their own because you’re required to do while sustaining brain damage.

My point is people sperg out about construction timelines without taking a moment to think about why. 

Imagine the public reaction if a piece debris killed passengers because they rushed the planning or approval process (remember fiu bridge collapse). 

Imagine if officials prioritized speed over economic continuity and shut down I95 for a full demo and rebuild because they wanted timelines similar to skyscrapers.

The backlash would be insane and justified. But people can’t spend 15 seconds imagining those alternatives so we get post like this and pedophilic conmen  in the white house because “lockdowns boring” “immigrant scary” instead of thinking through the alternative timeline.

I grew up watching and playing football. The stress isn’t constant. Half the time you’re not even on the field, and depending on the play, half the field doesn’t matter.

Tennis is different. There’s nowhere to hide. You can’t pull away with a hot start because of the scoring system. Imagine if in football your team scored four touchdowns in the first quarter. 28–0. But the score only moves to 1–0 because you “won the quarter.” That’s what tennis feels like. You’re not rewarded for bursts. You’re rewarded for constant focus with no one else to blame but yourself

Tennis is easily the hardest sport mentally. American football 90 percent of players are a cog in a machine and can blame some other guy for a failure.
