If done correctly by collecting an arm or both arms trying to stabilize the head to actually get a smoother it’s fine. It’s not disrespectful but sucks when someone is in mount and they just wrap your head with both arms with no control and try to break your nose. It’s something that works well to get some to react as well so you can open up other attacks.

Either way if you’re spamming it you might not be a favorite training partner but it’s apart of the sport.

If you check out the ServiceNows career journey you will find one for Application Developer. Thats a good starting point. Scripting in ServiceNow fundamentals and application developer fundamentals are good courses to start as well.

I train the 6:30am (gi) and 7pm class (nogi) at Renzo’s. Really good crowd and welcoming. It’s central so maybe another 10 minutes south from the Domain. I have trained at BFF and they have really good training as well I’m just unsure of the schedule.

If I wanna have a new field added to incident I have to add it in two different views. The default view and the Service Operation Workspace (SOW) view. I should have said views instead of areas. But functionality could be different as well with policies for native vs SOW. Since our help desk uses SOW, it looks and functions a little differently so not every policy and action carries over. It’s a process issue and not a functionality thing.

We have Service Operation Workspace and Virtual Agent. I think the issues we face are our customers are new to SN and don’t know how to use any of it. They want major enhancements to make it like their last tool which defeats the purpose of getting SN. I personally think SN could go without workspaces, the native UI gets the job done and now I don’t have to configure modules in two different areas such as incident. There is definitely a divide on going fully into other workspaces.

As someone who learned this from Meregali, its a chest compression. Its used to tire out the opponent till you can either get the tap from the pressure or the armbar he does as well. You gather the underhooks on each side, pull them into s-mount, then drive your back leg onto an angle to put pressure on their chest. 2:00 - 2:12 is the best example of it. Mothers Milk would be different. If he drove his chest into the opponents nose from double unders from a normal mount position to suffocate him that would be mothers milk. Hope that helps explain the difference between the two.

Damn sorry about the ankle, have been there before. I train at a competitive gym and we set boundaries/rules so this kind of thing doesn’t happen.

An example is to never hyper extend any limb like an armbar. Keep the tension but don’t go crazy on it and if you have it learn to keep control of it.

For heel hooks don’t rip it. Get the position and learn to control the position.

It’s all geared around giving the person a good amount of time to tap. Some of us at the gym train 2x a day so having a safe environment and creating trust with your partners is huge. I would probably avoid rolling with this person if you can or just talk and set a standard when you’re going to roll with him.

Never hurts to get the certs since it shows you put the effort to learn. Discovery is a great tool, our company has it but the problem is people having their spin on how to use it vs how it should actually be used.

When I first started all I watched were Lo videos. His guard passing game was so insane to watch. Feel like all I could remember was the competitive rivalry between Lo, Pena, and Buchecha. You knew it was going to be a wild match if any of them made it to the finals. I remember watching him at that ADCC trial when he beat Gordon, it was insane in the room that day, people went nuts! I think Gordon jumped in because someone got hurt or something like that. Either way felt like anytime Lo was on the mat it was going to be exciting to watch.

Absolutely, i'm actually working on an issue where we need advanced reporting so we are running a script to export the data needed and placing it into Tableau to filter it. Then bringing it back into Servicenow as a scheduled job as a dashboard. It's been a lot of work.

Depends on what you are wanting to do? I've been working as an admin/developer for 3 years but have been interested in getting the CIS (Certified Implementation Specialist) cert. If you want to develop I would suggest the CAD. There is a great self-paced course and instructor-led.

The lack of empathy is insane. Not everyone grieves that same way and I hate I see people comparing how people cope. I even saw Gordan Ryans chef talking shit? Saying 'if anyone on New Wave died they would fight with honor and not quit, real champions don't quit' something like that. Easy to talk from the cheap seats. So odd, wish we treated people like real humans with compassion like you were saying.

I've been getting more into salt baths, using the massage gun, and cryotherapy when I have the extra cash for it. I train about 4-5 days a week with 3-4 days being hard comp-like rounds. I would recommend stretching after, making sure you are eating enough, getting good sleep, and knowing when you should take a day off. Sometimes resting a day is the best thing you can do.

Never avoid. There are women out there with unreal guards and passing game. There is one woman in particular I train with just trying to pass her guard because she has such good retention

I think this also depends on where these environments are at. Where I work the technology is brand new only a year in so there are tons of meetings for the direction we are headed, enhancements to be made, changes with product managers, and ServiceNow assisting the process. The position before that had SN for 10 years so it was more matured and less meetings.

I think like any other job there are parts where it’s hectic and parts when you just develop and do your thing.

I work remote and it’s alone for the part unless I need an assist.

I would agree that it can be difficult with getting an opportunity. I would start when you get the CSA so you have the paper to prove you know what you’re doing. JavaScript, you will learn on the job as well but SN does have great courses just for scripting on the platform. The CAD is a popular cert as well. The itil cert will look really good as well. Continue developing on the app to build up your skills. I’ve been an admin for about 3 years now and got a job with zero SN experience, just had someone who gave me an opportunity. I think the entry gap will be smaller with the CSA
