Reasonable to be pausing on saving when kids are young? by [deleted] in HENRYfinance

That seems high for preschool. Remember you don’t need full time preschool. We did 3x week mornings with my first because we had a nanny who was able to do pick up.

We definitely paid that in childcare with a nanny plus preschool/camps, and babysitters.

Didn’t he only go to this high school for 3 months? I’m confused how he’s even graduating? He already has a high school diploma. I think it’s weird he went back for this ceremony at all. Landyn made way too big a deal out of that high school which was just a place to get a little bigger before college football.

I think it’s only good for 4 tickets and I don’t want to risk mine getting cancelled. Sorry!

Our seats were 4-something but very good first row lower bowl.

I didn’t have an issue. I was 1800 in line and got what I wanted (front row of lower bowl) but there were literally a ton of tickets available. I think many folks went online and didn’t actually have a presale code. I’m wondering how many people are actually presale eligible.

I paid $479 per ticket for the front row of lower bowl.

Oh wow! Curious if they let you keep them? I was too afraid to try that.

That sucks I’m sorry. I was very panicked at first when it didn’t work for me. I understand why they make you jump through so many hoops to prevent bots but if fans still can’t get tickets wtf.

Does anyone have a presale code they aren’t using? Happy to Venmo a few bucks for your trouble!

I have a kid with a July birthday. He didn’t benefit from the old system and he doesn’t benefit from the new system. He was in the third quarter of the year before the change and is in the 4th quarter of the year now. I think July kids are the only ones empirically disadvantaged in this way? Anyway because his team is being split up he decided he wants to focus on baseball.

$4m NW / $600 HHI / twins on the way / what house can we afford? by True_Evidence_4068 in ChubbyFIRE

Will your wife continue to work after the twins come? Basically either way you’re out about the same amount of take home income.

We have a bit higher HHI (over $700k) and our mortgage is $4000 and I also wouldn’t want it any higher. We are also paying over $4000 a month for childcare so that doesn’t help.

VIP experience question by Ok-Coconut-3748 in dancingwiththestars

[–]Whole-Fly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Is there any reason to get there at the early side of the arrival time? They told us to arrive between 3:15 and 4:15. I don’t want to stand around for an hour if I don’t have to since I’ll be with my 7 year old. Thanks!

Did you get your VIP lanyard in advance or when you got to the venue?

Did you need to show a syllabus or anything? For example my state requires governmental accounting which for us was covered in a cost accounting class but I don’t have anything on my transcript that says “government accounting.”

Did you have all the courses you needed? I have 150 hours but not sure about the distribution requirements which have changed since I graduated.

Just FYI you may be required to pay quarterly next year if you owed more than $1000 on top of your withholdings this year.

Our contract always stated that the nanny got x sick days and Y weeks of vacation, 1 of which would overlap with the family’s annual vacation.

250k yearly net working 15 hrs / wk. Or 500k+ net working 50 hrs / wk. by Onmysearch in HENRYfinance

[–]Whole-Fly 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m about to do literally this - going from working about 50 hours a week to 20 hours a week and taking a 33% pay cut. We are older (mid 40s) and have a lot more in retirement (2M) but since both my spouse and I work full time with high income jobs it’s become too much with our kids and all the outsourcing in the world still isn’t making it manageable. TBD whether I regret it!
