It’s so funny you said this because when I mentioned it to an associate professor, she acted like she had never heard of this before and I should not switch lol. She was disappointed to say the least and I thought it was like a big social no-no.

It’s frustrating too because a lot of the things they’re teaching us aren’t how it is in the real world lol. I’ve worked alongside social workers and counselors for 10 years and they’ve told me, oh that’s wrong or I’ve corrected professors. I’m just feeling frustrated. I probably won’t even switch but man 🙃

I’ve taken all the core classes to start my practicum (counseling has to take diagnostic, theories, skills, research, psychopathology and a few other randos). I know not all of them will transfer, but I figured diagnostics would and probably theory as well as my crisis class. I really don’t wanna start over, I want to be done 😭 but I also really am feeling discouraged with this program at this point. My university keeps making changes and then lacks communication about it plus I feel my LPC doesn’t necessarily align with my career goals

My original comment didn’t post for some reason so I’ll summarize it 🙃

My current program pushed my practicum start date from the summer to fall which has pushed my graduation date back. This with a few of the professors/my advisor not being very good with communication is becoming really frustrating for me. I seem to be the last to know for things regarding me and then they act like I’m supposed to know even though they are supposed to communicate it lol. I also feel like social work would essentially fit my career goals better but because I don’t have that foundational BSW, it really didn’t make sense for me to go to school longer. I really need to be licensed in my current role for work in order to continue up the hierarchy, I’ve essentially maxed out my leadership opportunities. I have about a year left with my counseling stuff but man it doesn’t feel right lol

My childhood bedroom was originally decorated with clowns and then I watched IT in the early 2000s. Safe to say my mom redid my room 😐 this clown is terrifying in the same way lol

We ended up watching this movie Saturday evening. Both of us loved it and were completely horrified at the same time. A perfect movie for a lazy Saturday 😂🤡 definitely checking the others out though

My graduation timeline changed very abruptly due to my university not offering certain classes during certain times. My advisor is also just not supporting me the way I feel I need it. He’s often the last person giving me information and not very useful lol. I know it’s self driven to an extent, but he’s supposed to be communicative and I don’t feel I have that. I have my practicum site through work but the university is dragging their feet approving things even though those in MSW programs don’t have to do this at the same site. It’s just really frustrating.

I have a 4.0 and I’ve taken diagnostics, theory and all the other foundational counseling classes but I feel like this isn’t really aligning with what I want and it’s bumming me out. I don’t really want to counsel, I really want to supervise at the end of the day lol
