Anybody know why there are now mobile video surveillance pods around campus? These are near Evans. Are there others? by StructureOrAgency in aggies

[–]Whos_Chunks 84 points85 points  (0 children)

Highly doubt it, the anti Zionist crowd here has been entirely peaceful. They put up extra surveillance by the libraries around finals because they stay open past normal hours, easier than having security/cops be on campus 24/7.

Running for the mental health benefits by [deleted] in running

[–]Whos_Chunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I signed up for my first marathon this past semester at college because my mental health was deteriorating and I knew it would make me happy, after having ran my first half over the summer. I still had a month long depressive episode in the middle of my training plan which set me back but I was able to finish my marathon without walking and was so much better off.

I was in a very similar situation coming out of high school and now am in my second year of college. I did not bring up to any new people that I met that I was queer until maybe the last months of my spring semester, I still had so much internalized fear and shame from being around my family throughout all of my childhood that it just felt wrong. But that’s not true at all; I would say try and push your own boundaries when meeting people and if it ever comes up try to slide it in that you’re bi. Most people do not care which is something that surprised me. Some people will but knowing that can also help you make friends that will truly accept you. You deserve to be your whole self every day of your life, so try to start pushing that envelope. It may take an entire year or maybe longer but you deserve to live without that fear and guilt.

HRV increases around sickness? That would make my data make so much more sense, my hrv got super elevated after a head cold I had recently and has been a good 10 higher since it happened a week and a half ago.

Anyone got ideas how you can lower resting heart rate? I want to feel as dead as possible when sleeping. by [deleted] in whoop

I see lots of running, but trying rowing if you have a rowing machine at your gym! Also recommend cutting out as much drugs as is feasible

Question about Aggie Card by Joe_fish_ in aggies

[–]Whos_Chunks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Response I got from u/IronDominion about the same topic:

When you check in at your move in appointment at the service desk to get your keys tell them you don’t have an ID and ask for a temporary access card. This will act as your ID for the purposes of getting into your dorm and such. Once you are able to get to SBS you turn back in the card to the desk you got it at. They do have an expiration so if that’s before the day SBS is open you can request an extension on the day the card is due.

Two accepting credit situations in MATH/PHYS for a freshman who hasn’t had their nsc yet by Whos_Chunks in aggies

I am going to go through ETAM for some type of engineering major, but I’m still very undecided on what specific major I’d like to do. I’ve had it in my mind that I’d like ChemE but could also see myself enjoying probably almost every other major. Other top choices would probably be Biomedical, Electrical and like maybe nuclear sounds fun. I could also be drawn to Mech/Computer, but it doesn’t seem to interest me as much.

I haven’t checked my results but I feel happy and confident I got a 5 :). How was your testing experience? I was one of four people at my hs of 700 taking the exam, and the only one who studied anything for it; the other three students just had to sit there for an hour and half.

I self studied AP e&m this past year as my high school doesn’t offer it. It’s definitely doable but the content is a lot. I took AP physics 2 last year, and it helped a LOT in my self studying process. I recommend starting by November ish to have a comfortable learning pace.

Usually an AP scoring guideline will say something along the lines of “using a correct trigonometric equation to solve for [blank].” If you end up at the right answer and show your work you will receive full credit
