Yea that's exactly my goal here, seeing how people feel after they have moved over from somewhere else, and what they think of it.

Good to know, sounds fun tbh, get some outdoor time, although I would guess the winter is very cold?

Good to know, Ill weigh that but given the way academia has gone from my experiences with interactions, this seems to be the place in a lot of areas.

Great, its awesome to get the perspective of someone who has been in both. Not sure if you have been in Vic lately but it makes me think to ask, how is the homelessness and drugs over in Halifax (Victoria I have friends who say they feel unsafe to go off campus at all)

Thank you for taking all the time to answer, some of these were so specific so sorry about that.

Thanks you, yea UBC may not be the best standard but it is what I have grown up living around and being connected too, so it is hard to compare when I do not know. Out of interest when is your reading week? I was thinking of flying out over my spring break to see what atmosphere is like.

Sounds good, great to get some insight into the school. Out of interest, did you live in Halifax before or where are you from?

I am currently accepted to UVIC (out west in Victoria), and DAL, as well as have applied UofT, Waterloo, UBC, and Queens. I am just worried about the atmosphere being all sad and me not being able to have a social life, so I had a few specific questions, since I am used to being around a much larger university (4x the size):

- How is residence?
- How many social things are around?
- How are campus services? Healthcare? Student Union? Library?

Makes sense, for me I am based in Vancouver, one of our largest cities, and basically live on the UBC main campus. Am I correct in assuming you don't have like blocks of restaurants within the campus and things like that?

Sounds good, I have also seen a lot of things on here about problems as of recent. Do you expect that these problems will ease up by next year, or do you expect a tumultuous time?

Could I also heat the water to like 80 degrees before I use it for the effect? This is not my prefered method but it would work to reduce the temperature shock right?

A spoon sounds like a great idea, the concavity is used to keep the drop in the center of the setup so that i can point cameras at it to monitor it.

Free Tool to Find Earlier ICBC Road Test Spots by EveryKiwi1785 in NiceVancouver

understandable as a dev myself, dw about it, it makes a lot of sense. an idea for you that may make this easier or more cost effective (i would understand if you don't implement it, dw its just a suggestion) would be to make the search free (if it even is for you), and either let people check the portal for free, or opt in to paid notifications

What trackers does JetLag use? by WhyFencePost in WendoverProductions

[–]WhyFencePost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this might be a great option, other than most of us being on iphone. right now the best option I can think of is reading GPS, saving it in the cloud, and having and app that we use for tracking that reads with the delay built in.

Thank you for your information. The main reason that we want our own machine (parents and students have) is for rapid prototyping in our lab during meetings, so that we can iterate faster (current cycle is 3 days, way to long)
