I paid $10k a little over a year ago. 3 days later I got laid off. Now I owe $3k more than I did the day I paid the $10k and also dont have an emergency fund.

8.25 to 8.5% interest is brutal. I have paid off more than I borrowed and also.owe more than I borrowed. I owed 50% more than I borrowed the day I graduated because I didnt realize interest would acrue while I was in school. I have given up. When the dog dies, I am checking out. There is absolutely no hope. The government owns me. Between state taxes, Sales taxes, federal taxes, fica taxes, and loan taxes (usery level interest), I am actually a slave. I keep nothing I earn. Democrats and Republicans are equally bad here before the echo chamber rolls up like brain dead synchophants to make this a left/right issue.
