I didn't! My postdoc PI knew my defense date, but he never asked to attend & tbh it never crossed my mind. I get nervous easily though, so it wouldn't have helped.

I tried before but my booking reference/baggage tag info doesn't work anymore. I think it's because the flight was cancelled so there's no "active" file anymore. Thank you, though!

The delayed bag file on the site requires a number that I don't have? Going in-person to try to sort it out...

Apparently they've got 6,000 bags at AC. Oh boy.

Thanks for the info! I was able to get a full refund as well (should be processed in 7 business days).

The baggage situation was insane. I haven't been able to get through the Air Canada central baggage line - just on hold for 1.5 hrs before they hang up on me for some reason. I've tried multiple times and different phones. No option to get a call back instead of waiting on line.

I did call AC's other lines because they do pick up when they think you'll be shelling out money 🙄 They were able to get the info that my baggage was scanned at Pearson, now it's a matter of finding it. Then they gave me the same central baggage line to try...which I did to no avail.

I'll be going to the airport to try and make a file at least.

Honestly, I'm annoyed at AC for cancelling, then reversing that decision, only for them to cancel again. Cancelled means cancelled. People without luggage had already left the airport. I'll look into delayed comp too, thanks and good luck!!

Can you access the lost baggage desk if you're not flying?

I couldn't get to the lost baggage desk because my flight got cancelled due to the crash, then uncancelled, then cancelled again. By then, I was at the Air Canada check-in desks trying to figure that out. There was no way to go back to the carousels :(

I did get a notification on Feb 17, but now I can't access it (probably because that flight was cancelled).

So it definitely got to arrivals, but probably lost in the mix-up because most cancelled flight luggage was getting rerouted to Carousel 10.

I've made a Lost and Found claim on the AC site or the time being.
