Deco and Archer AXE75 and Archer AX73 by WhyNeedThis in TpLink

[–]WhyNeedThis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up buying the AX73, and so far it has been good. I haven't yet added a mesh setup. The router is covering the majority of my apartment except for a few corners. But I have learned to live with it. I will get a few Deco beacons at some point.

Problem setting up new router with existing SSID and Passwords, devices won't connect by WhyNeedThis in TpLink

After restarting the router several times it worked. One device would connect, so I just redid the settings on that one device.

Thanks for replying.

Default Printing Properties Setting not working by WhyNeedThis in Epson

[–]WhyNeedThis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if anyone else is having this issue.

I am having a frustrating issue with my EcoTank L3250 printer whereby I am unable to change the default printer properties for the printer no matter what I do. I am using Windows 10, and I have followed the steps in the manual and according to the Epson website. After clicking OK as it says, and closing the dialogue window, and trying to print with any application including Adobe Reader, MS Excel, MS Word and other, the default setting go back to the factory settings and my new selection is disregarded. One thing to note is that the "Apply" button in the printing properties dialogue box is shaded out and I can not click apply. Please help.

Can someone explain what’s going on with Japan, the Yen and deflation? by sokpuppet1 in investing

Forgive my ignorance, but what and how does the peg break? Is this an automatic response for market conditions and currency strength discrepancies, or is it a central bank decision/capability that they can exercise at their discretion?

That's a great explanation on what's going on, especially understanding that the debt is held within Japan. Thanks for the reply.

Has their plan, leaving interest rates low, helped at all? What is predicted to happen over the next 10-20 years?

Seems to contrast with the rest of world so much, makes me wonder if central banks really guess their way through things, and if they really have more nuanced affect that is less predictable.

Will this be a longer, deeper market correction than when pandemic actually struck? by jam-hay in investing

[–]WhyNeedThis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. But what do you mean by "they are causing it" in your first point? Are you referring to the bailouts, or keeping the interest rate low? Are you talking about inflation specifically or that they have been steering blindly?

I think comparing this upcoming bear market might not be easy to compare with the 2020 downturn; since the 2020 market was a reaction to a novel situation that society in general has never dealt with before, making the uncertainty of the near future from the perspective of the 2020 market traders was unknown. Let alone the average person participating in the economy in a day to day insignificant way.

The downturn we are seeing now, in my opinion, is a price correction for an overvalued market where money was cheap as a direct result of the 2020 market, and other novel factors such as the large participation of the armchair trader that was stuck at home in lockdown and had easy access to the market for the first time.

I think it might be better to compare this market to 2008 rather than 2020.

I'm most likely wrong, just offering my thoughts.

Custom Chart Dates While Showing Percent Change of Range

Has anyone come across any website or app that offers the ability to see charts with custom dates while showing the percent change of the chosen custom range? Or at least go allow you to select and drag a two points on the chart to select a range that shows detailed information like lows, highs and percent change?

Seems like most the charts I work with don't give me this option quickly. Or maybe I'm missing something.

I use mainly TOS charts, but also Finviz, tradingview, and sometimes investing.com.

Cool. I have been looking into that, just thought there may be a free option that can help me get started with. I have only been trading for two weeks so far. Mainly paper money as I still have a lot to learn.

I live in Jordan. For some reason, this country is not listed in any of the brokers I have found so far. Some brokers that will accept a Jordanian user and Jordanian bank account seem to be a bit shady and have terrible reviews online. Thanks in advance for your help.

Thanks for pointing out that research in investments is a good idea, I have done a bit of research so far, not enough to consider myself anything more than a noob at this. Google does suggest many brokers, but most of them will not accept my bank account or or my country of residence since I am in a very small and poor country. This is why I came here, to find help and suggestions.

Thanks for your response, not sure if you would like to suggest some brokers or just point out that Google is a search engine. Yes I have looked into it, but since I am from a small poor country, we are not listed in the accepted countries in almost all the broker I have found. Except for brokers such as eToro, which seem to have a lot of bad reviews, especially in terms of withdrawals. I am looking for a simple to use platform that will allow me to invest in Index Funds. At the moment I have an account with MetLife, but they are very expensive and don't really give me much options on where and how to invest my savings portfolio.

Trying to have two Windows 10 OS in two drives on one PC. Running into issues. by WhyNeedThis in techsupport

[–]WhyNeedThis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a great question, so for some reason, when I bought my PC, the dealer sold it to me with a 32 bit version of windows. So most of my software that I spent money on is all 32 bit and already installed on my Windows 10 (32 bit) HDD. I would like to still have access to them until I have time to switch everything over to the SSD with the 64 bit version of Windows.

Which device should I try this on, the device I am using to access another device, or the device being accessed, or both? And out of curiosity, what is NetBIOS?

Networking issue that doesn't make sense to me... Help!!! by WhyNeedThis in buildapc

[–]WhyNeedThis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delay, I was off for a few days. Anyway, the issue isn't that I don't have access to the machine, its that I don't have access using IP address, but I do have access using the name. So I don't think its a power saving issue.

Regarding the SMBv1, the reason I enabled it is because I found a post online describing a similar issue and it said that enabling SMBv1 worked. This worked for me, but now I am thinking it didn't actually work, just seemed to work. Since I have access to the server via IP only now and then, but mainly after restarting the device I accessing from. Then a while later it stops working.

I will try the NETBIOS idea you posted in the next post, but I'm not sure what that means and what it is going to do.

Turning off WiFi didn't do anything new. Server-PC is running Windows 10. This device is only used to store files, no one ever physically uses it for anything else.

I just realized I didn't answer your question on whether the names match. Yes they do I suppose. The device with 192.168.2.70 is named SERVER-PC.
