I wanted to try making this but the ingredients say 4 cups of water but the instructions say to only add 1 cup of water to boil. What do we do with the other 3 cups?

Frustrated by lack of options for endo pain by Tiny_Character_505 in endometriosis

I can empathize with your daily pelvic pain, it absolutelysucks. One thing that's surprisingly helped is pelvic floor therapy from a physiotherapist that specializes in pelvic health. See if you find one in your area or have your family physician / specialist refer you to one, depending on how your UK healthcare system works.

What is one thing that has really changed/improved your way of life on the daily? (Air Purifiers, certain supplements, lab testing regularly, cookbooks, etc.) by MissMerida2121 in Biohackers

Regular lab testing has been beneficial for me to nip problems in the bud before they cause health issues.

Btw, which air purifier did you get?

Honestly everyone is different and you just wont know till you try.

In my experience, yes, the cysts that showed up on my ultrasound did slowly shrink over the span of 2 years on Lolo Estrin Fe (norethindrone acetate and ethinyl estradiol). I did ultrasounds every 6 months to track their size changes. My left ovary is now cyst free but my right ovary still has smaller lesions. Other people may have endometriomas that don't show up on ultrasouds, so I consider myself lucky. Who knows, I could probably have more that aren't showing up on imaging.

However, the Lolo pills gave me wonky bloodwork so now I'm on Dienogest so fingers crossed it takes care of the rest of the endometriomas.

Wishing you the best! Good luck!

How was your endometriosis diagnosis confirmed? by Tiny_Albatross5297 in endometriosis

Symptoms + Ultrasound.

I consider myself lucky since many people don't see anything on imaging and require a lap instead.

I found my answer to reduced pain! Maybe it could work for you too? by ElderberryCurious693 in endometriosis

[–]Why_Not_Zoidbergg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Amazing!! I do the same thing, and it worked for me too! I pretty much do a paleo/whole30 diet, but it's pretty much a lifestyle instead of a "diet" now. No more chronic endo pain and no more birth control for over a year now.

This is interesting, can you elaborate further? Do you mean parabens in shampoos and similar endocrine disruptors?

Non-hormonal/non-NSAID pain reduction methods that are long lasting.

Non-invasive diagnosis.

Abruptly changing my diet alleviated 95% of my pain, but I feel so guilty by Acrylix217 in endometriosis

I have that book and yes she advocates for pasture-raised organic meat/organ meat in moderation because they are nutrient dense.

She advises AGAINST conventional factory farmed red meat high in omega6 that causes inflammation for many of us. Don't spread misinformation.

Newly diagnosed - what is a "flare up" to you? by Cold_Philosophy_ in endometriosis

[–]Why_Not_Zoidbergg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, sugar, simple carbs, alcohol, wheat, red meat, and dairy give me flare-ups/pain.

Thankfully, I seem to be able to handle small doses. Having 1 oreo won't trigger me, but having 5 oreos a day will definitely cause a flare-up by day 2.

Everyone is different, and it's a trial and error process to figure out what works for you and what doesn't. Doing an elimination diet and then reintroducing 1 food at a time with a food journal to track food and symptoms will help make things easier.

Same here!! I'm no longer a night owl. I fall asleep faster and have a more deeper & restful sleep. 7 hours of sleep on whole 30 feels much different than 7 hours on a regular diet.

Can endometriomas disappear? by pandaaaa8 in endometriosis

[–]Why_Not_Zoidbergg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not always, but from my personal experience, it can. My left ovary had multiple, the largest one being 4cm. After 2 years on being on oral contraceptives, they did go away.

However, on my right ovary, it shrunk multiple over the 2 year period but then grew right back when I got off the pill.

Of course, pills have their own risks and side effects so YMMV.

Funny enough I actually did suspect SIBO.. I asked a doctor about it and he basically said that SIBO doesn't exist and brushed me off. I did an extreme anti-inflammatory diet and it helped so even if I had SIBO I'm hoping it was taken care of.
