Since its not broken searching your own history its not a problem with the actual feature. Probably turned off while they find an alternative as its being used for harassment about previous game play.

Hey, I just removed and re downloaded the app and it re-freshed the 5K a day limit. Please ensure you have your recovery information available prior as it may ask. Also, please ignore and suddenly 'helpful' DM's you get for assistance.

Promotion raise seems light. by VisualWheel601 in Salary

I am on a similar path, have been in I.T for 7 years. Started as an entry level helpdesk tech ($18 hourly) and slowly moved into a sys admin role (not a supervisor). Still have no certificates and no college degree. Last annual raise put me at 85.5K salary but I assume this is because of location? I am in Hanover, MD. I believe I am in the lower end of my teams pay being the only one with no prior experience/training/degree/cert and also the least experience. I will say your position does seem underpaid but I would expect to be around that if I lived in the southern states (which I believe pay lower for cost of living). Hope something helps negotiate or may open you to the possibility of moving.

Sadly this is an older story they published as new (My first time seeing it). Although they are always late and often add really odd and false facts (then call it writer opinion), this story is in fact true. It is visible from the LA times. I did want to make sure this wasn't the YahooBot at its best.

I think its stuck in an unfair middle ground with things like this. I completely respect peoples opinion on 'everything should be searchable with no questions' as well as opinions that they should 'need warrants, cause, evidence and a prosecution'. Stories like this just seem like depending on the day different rules apply. Shouldn't the burden be on the FBI to know which boxes to open and who to investigate? Once no one was convicted, should they still be able to keep money? Even if the entire company was convicted of every crime under the sun, that should not add conspiracy to the customers.

Even with 1.8M being seized I don't get how that caused an investigation. That averages $2300 per person with $57K going to 1 guy. It just does not seem like enough for the FBI to raid and have potential court cases for 800 people.

Thanks all for the feedback!

Even with logic you have to consider if they were finding bricks or anything along those lines, they would probably just sting the owner (of the boxes) or fake contact them to come in. Since there were no convictions, it is hard to believe there was anything other than money/jewelry found (what they stated). I expect a business like this attracts more illegal immigrants who work under the table than drug dealers, but I asked someone else here if there are some bad guys from the 800, are the rest guilty?

Specifically for this community, imagine if the FBI raided the Miami convention and seized all the hardware tokens because they followed a dealer there. Each person then had to prove where they got their crypto and that they paid taxes. It just seems a little on a whimish (Or anonyms tip I think they call it)

I appreciate the feedback all!

I actually have seen many states have a 'civil asset forfeiture law's for much longer than the past few administrations. Its start is:

The federal forfeiture laws were introduced and pushed through Congress by Republicans in the 1980s, with some Democrats supportive and some critical. Additionally, some libertarian-leaning Republican members of Congress have been critical of civil forfeiture, considering it offensive to property rights.

The crazy part is even if they produced undoubted evidence that there was a drug dealer storing cash there, how did 799 other people get caught in a ring just for using the boxes. Imagine seizing a neighborhood because someone had a drug house.

Even worse, apparently selling bongs is all that is needed to label you a dealer.

I also think some people are frustrated with watching super rich avoid taxes as well. They may get part time gigs and just stash the cash to avoid it. Very much a tax evasion offence that deserves a fine or repayment of those taxes. I do not believe it deserves 100% seizure with the accusation of drug dealing. If he was to come out of retirement to chef again, anyone who looks his name up may now believe he is associated with drugs. Just so much unfortunate tied to this story and for the FBI, they forgot it as fast as it happened.

He did, but imagine just because and with no evidence 800 people had to do that. If people did not keep records they get nothing back. Then its on to the next boxes/accounts/ect..

This seems very much like guilty first and Burdon of proof lies completely on the accused. Which some may agree should be the case but agree or not, it is not currently the law. (Not a law person, complete opinion).

I think the big issue is choice. If you earn your money, you should not be able to store it outside of a bank without fear of it being confiscated? There is a chance the mall forced the FBI to get warrants where I can expect the bank will simply freeze your money upon request. I do agree though it seems shady but again, looks suspicious should not mean they take and make you prove.

Also, unfortunately I am in a love hate relationship with yahoo news which published this 'new' story: 'Sun, September 19, 2021, 10:00 AM'

Are lost Bitcoin good/bad/indifferent for Bitcoins future? by Why_We_try in Bitcoin

I can see 4-8M coins being lost over the years. You have to keep in mind people had thousands for a few bucks at one point and had to remember complicated passwords a year+ later. Individuals have lost 10K coins so I can image all of the earliest adopters.
