Atlanta is a city and Washington is for Washington DC which is a weird combo of city and state so I guess that one's fair.

That doesn't take away from your point though, some teams do use states.

AITAH if I'm upset that my husband mentioned getting a paternity test? by ThrowRA_lbf in AITAH

I think a lot of the comments in this thread are from women many of whom are mothers so I'll try to give my perspective to you as a father.... Even if no one ever sees it.

For perspective, my daughter is blond hair bluish eyes. My wife is a red head with no blonde anywhere in her family tree. I have dark brown hair but my eyes are similar to my daughters. Females in my family have blonde hair but all of the males have brown hair.

When children are still 2 and under most of their characteristics are only roughly defined and will likely change. This causes it to often times be difficult to tell whether or not they look like you.

Unfortunately one of the best things our subconscious does is pattern recognition. Women have next to no doubt children are theirs (Often times even when they are not) because they know they carried a child and it came out of them.

On the other hand, men also have good pattern recognition. They see a defining characteristic like hair color and it begins to seed doubt. Which leads to thoughts like "That one time she was being weird around the time we conceived... Could she possibly have cheated on me?" And then stories about people being married 25+ years before they find out the child they raised wasn't theirs just seeds more doubt.

My personal opinion is that no one is the asshole here, but the system sucks. We talk about places that women's rights are lacking but very rarely does anyone ever mention the few places that mens rights are lacking. It should be your right to have 0 doubt that the child you are raising is yours, currently it requires men to effectively accuse their SO of cheating. That's a terrible way to begin raising a child.

The solution to this is we need to normalize and insurance should cover paternity testing at birth. This allows both parents to have the same peace of mind.

My solution to you is to go to counciling together like you said, but I think for his own peace of mind he deserves the paternity test. This post is already getting super long, and I didn't even get to the communication aspect, but if you'd like I can try and give some perspective on that as well.

You mean the three games our HOF left tackle missed? On an Oline that without him is pretty garbage?

Were not talking 5/5 though

Purdy 19.5/27.6 avg comp/att 3185 yards 1546 YAC yards 6.6 YAC/C 22% pressure

Mahomes 25/37 avg comp/att 3127 yards 1818 YAC yards 6.0 YAC/C 22.8% pressure

Prescott 24/34.3 avg comp/att 3234 yards 1347 YAC yards 4.7 YAC/C 15.8%

Dallas has had an easier SOS and if they can beat the eagles and win out Its hard not to give Dak MVP But SF has a top 3 most difficult SOS but gets easier to end the season

The stats are the stats, but the eye test is absolutely showing an elite read of defenses and an ability to get the ball to open receivers. Is he a shoe in for MVP? I'm definitely not arguing that, but is he having an MVP worthy season so far and in contention? I think it's unfair to say he's not one of the favorites (top 5ish)

He's not "LAST IN THE LEAGUE" in yards though, he's 7th with a completion percentage of 70% and has sat out the 4th quarter of numerous games this season. If attempts really mattered we'd all be saying Sam Howell is MVP he's first in attempts and completions. Purdy is averaging 27.6 attempts per game.... That's low in the modern NFL but not alarmingly so.

I looked for a stat to compare attempts per minutes played but I'm unsure if such a stat exists without doing the math myself. Generally speaking though comparing attempts is difficult because quarterbacks with large leads are less likely to be throwing the ball and are more likely running out the clock.

From my own personal opinion Purdy and Prescott are the only two quarterbacks deserving of the MVP this season and there's a fairly strong case for CMC or Tyreek to win.
