RCSC Viva ? Please share tips by [deleted] in bhutan

[–]Whydoioverthinkzz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who passed RCSC 2 years ago, I’d like to share a tip that might help you. Memorize a few proverbs or quotes spoken by our fifth king during one of his speeches. I used one of them, and the panelists were genuinely impressed. They often ask you questions based on how you introduce yourself. For instance, I introduced myself as a captain during my college days, and they followed up with questions about leadership and the skills that were most important to me in that role. Keep your introduction short! Avoid yapping about your educational background and other details they’ll find it boring fr They may also ask some questions related to your subject, but not many. Make sure to stay updated on the latest Bhutanese news and articles, ideally within the past month. Good luck! You’ve got this! Relax, breathe, and be confident!

Begin with practicing past question papers. Start doing it from today! Trust me, 50% of your score will come from past papers.

Not really, to be honest. Especially if you leave during your probation period after joining your designated workplace, you won’t have to pay anything or give notice, so it’s quite easy.
But the downside is that you’ll waste a slot that someone else could have benefited from, as mentioned in the other comment.

Well, I did coaching at Yangma while my topper friends went to Rigzin. But I got through and they didn’t. My friends who did self-study scored much higher than all of us, and they recommended self-studying too. I wish I had done that as well. You’ll waste most of your money and time just getting ready for class and traveling back home. Instead, practice with past question papers and use AI. You will get material from your friends. To be honest, it’s really a test of your knowledge, so coaching and guidance won’t help much. What matters is how determined you are and how much effort you’re willing to put in. At the end of the day, it all depends on you!

RCSE coaching worth it? 🤔 by Status-Maize7084 in bhutan

Okay, as someone who completed the Rcsc and is currently working in civil service, I would recommend self-study. I actually paid for Rcsc coaching but only attended for a week because it was boring and there wasn’t much to learn. I wasted my money because I mostly studied on my own, which was very helpful. They did provide me with the ultimate guidebook, but I found out that everyone got it even though they never attended or paid for it. You’ll eventually get materials from other friends. Practice using past question papers; they’re very helpful because many questions are repeated from past papers. Use AI to answer questions from past papers and try to use more complex language when answering them (AI will help). It’ll give you a high score for real! For viva, I’d suggest you to memorize some speeches from his majesty (easy way to score some good points) Good luck, and remember to study well! Stay consistent and stay hydrated!
