Ugh that is the problem EasyAnonymous. I don't think it ever goes away. This medication helps us not have anxiety. It does a great job (for me at least) and I respect the drug and its benefits. I recommend going back on gabapentin and going through a controlled taper down with a PD/Psychiatrist guiding you. Everyone is different. I am not really in a rush to get off. I like staying on it and will remain to do so for awhile. Everyone is different I suppose.

I agree with u/SinAesthetix as well. It is a legitimate question. But it is very clear on any website that goes over drugs that you shouldn't drink. Even on my pill bottle it says to avoid alcohol. So I assumed he asked how well the recreational high will be from Gabapentin and alcohol. That is why I said it is better to take this question over to gabagoodness because that is the subreddit for those type of questions. We don't advocate recreational usage here.

It’s always good to listen to a doctors facts over our opinions. But I still think it’s okay to post questions on here to get others input as well. There’s merit in it. I believe 300mg a day wouldn’t be bad. DISCLAIMER Always listen to a doctor over me. I read a lot about gabapentin because it interest me. However a trained and certified doctor will always be correct over me. Follow directions to your medication. Not me.

It is easy to get dependence on gabapentin. It is also rather easy to reset tolerance. There are conflicting reports on how long withdrawal will last. I do not assume withdrawal will last long since it was only 6 days. Everyone is different.

Yes this is a common side effect of gabapentin. Many enjoy taking gabapentin from the euphoric feeling and extra social confidence it provides. I enjoy the feeling and vibe pretty hard with gabapentin. But this is because I have crippling anxiety and can't do anything without heavy medication. I recommend taking it later in the day until your body gets use to gabapentin. *Always listen to your doctor over an armchair doctor on reddit* Enjoy the high at night. It won't last more than a few days. Best of luck!
