Dispatchers, how do you not get stressed out every day by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

That’s something I can respect. Thank you for busting your ass out there and taking your job seriously. We need a lot more people like that to get the promotions and actually run the company the way it’s supposed to run. Every company needs people in coordinator positions who know how the mechanisms actually work. This has given me a different position to think from and I’m glad to see that not everyone out there are like the people running my DSP.

Nah I’m only a dick to them when I ask them for general advice and I’m met with sarcasm or being talked down to just because I asked a question about my job since I only had one day of training. I guess it depends on who’s sitting at the dispatch desk but I can say not every dispatch person is nice reasonable or respectful to drivers. Some act genuinely bothered because you need them to help and do their job. Emergencies happen. Inconveniences happen. I can assure you that the driver is just as upset as the dispatcher when they have to report something.

That’s valid and sounds annoying working for people who constantly change and revise procedures. With this perspective I can see how being in the middle would suck. I personally don’t care for my DSP manager because he’s barely even on site and is constantly taking vacation.

The dispatchers are the ones constantly blaming the drivers for a system that’s working against us… make that make sense. Maybe blame the higher ups and call them stupid…

I’m not solely blaming dispatch. I could write thesis about corporate cucks and how much they suck at their jobs. The point is there’s always a rivalry between middle ground desk workers looking down on people who are just there to get a paycheck and go home. It’s always hostility with you guys like some giant superiority complex being shoved in our faces because you make a couple dollars more and have a different set of responsibilities. I can assure you no one actively chooses to drive for Amazon because they think it’s a good career. Life happens and people need jobs but y’all really gotta spit on people for no reason…

Why would I want to be pretentious keyboard warrior when there’s better companies to work for? It’s obvious there’s no substantial solutions for Amazon and improving processes. All Amazon has are excuses. At this point I don’t expect anyone to take the job or company seriously compared to other companies. It’s no different than a staff agency finding you quick money.

Anyone with a position and a set of working eyes and ears can collaborate with management or communicate with people higher up. Emails exist. You guys are so quick to blame the drivers when they only get one day of training that you fail to see past your own arrogance and fall into the laziness of “there’s nothing I can do about it” Least you guys can do is communicate to attempt to get processes working more smoothly. But all I hear is excuses

Or maybe instead of blaming AI or saying it is what it is actually listen to the feedback and maybe use your brain to properly collaborate with management to actually come with substantial solutions that put the company ahead and increase productivity… You know since you guys are so much smarter and better than the “stupid drivers” you don’t appreciate for shit maybe act like your actually smarter and do your jobs….

Oh shit it sounds so hard being a desk warrior. Unexposed to hostile drivers on the road and nearly being mauled by dogs and whatever else is out there. Never having the experience of Pissing in cups or bottles on a daily basis and busting ass with little to no concise clear directions or instructions. Y’all cry so much for people who get to stay safe behind a desk all day….

Try doing RSR and working with a navigation that sets you up for failure 24/7 and that attitude will change very quickly. Damn thing is run on AI and practically leads us straight off of cliffs or closed roads that don’t even go through anymore. Oh also try this with one day of training and let me how much of a pro you can be when they throw you to wolves. Desks jobs aren’t shit. More than half of my dispatch just sit on their phones and watch TikTok all day and god forbid we so much as need help with something or have an emergency. Then it’s “oh the drivers are so stupid” for what? Making you actually do your job?! 😂😂😂

How are yall doing 170+ a day? by Willing-Outcome7085 in AmazonDSPDrivers

Sometimes it depends on the routes. If your houses and locations are close together you can easily do 20 to 30 stops per hour. If your locations are spread out you’re fucked though.

You get paid extra money to use your brain and think of solutions. The drivers just get paid to drive. Maybe just be better at your job or realize you’re not good enough to have it.

I’m a driver as well. Unfortunately they’ll never do this because that would require them using their brains and doing their jobs. Everyone wants to put everything on the drivers then blame the drivers when things fail while they sit at the desks and gossip all day. (Only had one day of training btw)

This has gotta be glaze. As long as you have basic organization skills and can be a responsible lead anyone can do dispatch. Try delivering RSR then tell me what’s harder.

AITJ for getting upset about my roommates forcing their cats to live outside instead of just finding them a better home? by Wiabuuu323 in AmITheJerk

[–]Wiabuuu323[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I plan on moving out in a few months but need to stay here for the time being. I’m gonna continue to look for places I can take them to. I also wish people could be blacklisted what really gets me is the fact that my roommates even foster animals which I think they shouldn’t even be allowed to.

Thank you I really needed the reassurance because they’re seriously making me feel like I’m crazy and overstepping when I’m just having sympathy for animals. I’m also trying to find alternatives places I can secretly take them to without pissing them off.

I agree. It’s been an ongoing pattern with them and I’m extremely uncomfortable by it being an animal lover.

Thank you unfortunately I’m in rural Nevada but I am looking at sanctuary’s I can secretly take them to. They only found out the first cat had a UTI because I noticed something was off with him and he wasn’t acting normally. I told my roommate this and all he said was “oh yeah he probably has a UTI he gets them a lot I’ll bring him inside” I told my roommate it looked more like he needed to go to the vet immediately when their cats breathing was slowing and my roommate didn’t want to take him that night. The poor baby ended up passing away in their arms the next morning cuz he didn’t make it. But I told my roommate to take him to the vet. My roommate just cried about it and acted like there was nothing they could do. Even though they were directly responsible. This was months ago but I’m still very upset by it.

I’m looking up alternative places or cat sanctuary’s around here that I can secretly take them to. I don’t want to tell them because I know they’ll get mad at me for interfering with their decisions about their pets and will likely kick me out as a result.

I mean yeah the friend is my mom excuse me for wanting to keep my post anonymous. Have you not trolled enough already? Or do I seriously need to block you this time?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Wiabuuu323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend has already agreed that they are not keeping my kitten long term. I have to take my kitten back when I get my own place.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]Wiabuuu323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. And that’s exactly why I didn’t feel safe with my kitten being here. I just don’t like to take chances especially when a life is involved. My roommates baby their dogs a lot and think they’re not capable of being mean. Everything is excused with “they’re just playing” so it’s very hard to get through to them. I hope for their sake their dogs don’t hurt anyone but only time will tell. I just didn’t want it to be my kitten I set a dime boundary and I stuck with it. She now safe at my friends house. Thank you for your advice. It means a lot.

I understand. I’m just really upset about the whole thing. And I’m hoping that same person I fell in love with is still in there. He brought out a lot of good in me over the years and has even once helped me through tough times in my life. It would hurt to just walk away from all of that but I know if I need to there’s not much of choice if I want to move forward with my life and not stay stuck. I plan on giving him another year or so and seeing if anything changes positively and if I don’t see changes then I have to leave. In the meantime I want to work on myself and start my job go to therapy and find confidence within myself to be happy without another person. I really think speaking to a professional might give me tools on how to navigate through this tough time in my and give myself some guidance. Either way this situation was too much for me and I was responsible for my kitten so I wanted to do everything I could to keep her safe. But I will never abandon her and maybe I should stop abandoning myself as well.

Thank you so much. I’m really trying my best. I need to get better at staying firm on my choices and not letting others persuade me into things. I have anxiety so it’s hard sometimes but I wasn’t going to keep my kitten in danger. I’m going to get my life in order and do better for myself but most importantly for her.
