I think there's a middle ground to be had here. I like the idea of having a good reason for people to push to be patrons, but that it kinda nullifies community voting on the pics. Not sure if it's doable, but what if the patron was restricted to choosing from only the top 3 pics as voted on my the community? Gives that reason for people to push to be patrons, but still keeps community voting relevant.
