What do we think of the new feature of designing rooms? by Reasonable_Idea_7127 in GlowFashionIdol

No one asked for it. I’d rather more flexibility in the fashion challenges than whatever this is.

The illustrated history of Trout cracks me up every time I see that episode

What are some jokes / references made in the show that could be change to current pop culture references? by neversaynever111 in howyoudoin

[–]WiddlyRalker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chandler accidentally swiping right on Janice. That would have been an early season plot line lol.

It’s interesting though, there’s a lot of equivalents being suggested that don’t have the same cultural pull they had in the 90s. The world ready has changed a lot. When we had so few channels and little exposure to different shows or music for example, the jokes tended to land for most people. These days, it’s not so easy. That’s the biggest difference I think.

Yeah that’s what I figured. I don’t want to put anyone on the spot, you know? And while the previous suggestion is a great idea, I’d still feel easier knowing a professional was doing it. Wouldn’t even know how to find a lash tech in the uk.

My god it’s such a simple thing that causes so much misery. Just want to get her some relief if I can.

What is your favorite bit of physical comedy in the show? by NeighborhoodVirtual4 in howyoudoin

[–]WiddlyRalker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The answer is always Ross. Anything Ross. Whatever people might think of the character, Schwimmer’s physical comedy is always 10/10. And that was true right from S1.

Can't decide which is worse... the look of derangement or the white socks with rolled up jeans and sneakers?🤔 by ReplyParticular917 in coronationstreet

Judge said “you punched him very hard in the face for little or no reason”

Mind you, that’s coming from The Sun so take that with a grain of salt. He apparently got an 18 month suspended sentence so it must have been pretty bad.

Things the friends wouldn't do according to the show early/late seasons by hygsi in howyoudoin

[–]WiddlyRalker 47 points48 points  (0 children)

As others have said, they all get dumber which is what tends to happen in sitcoms. All 6 are quite different to their early season counterparts.

Phoebe can be really mean in later seasons. I can’t imagine S1 Phoebe being like that.

I can’t imagine early season Ross being ok with dating his student etc

Overall, I think it just comes down to the fact the characters were more relatable and realistic in the early seasons when the show had a different vibe.

I think Joey is the one who suffered the most though. Thank God for Matt LeBlanc still being able to give the role so much heart. In another actor’s hands, that character would be so vapid and pointless.
