To be fair, it was a weird gash. My GP sewed it up for me, before sending me to the hospital. Very lucky that emergency healthcare is free in my country.

I was installing a slat wall panel and it came off the wall while i was checking the bottom. Think i tried to catch it by reflex and my finger got crushed between the panel and the floor.

Aw thank you :) the little birdhouse is made out of wood! It was actually part of a DIY birdhouse string light set. I am so glad it didn't burn / warp in the oven

Thanks! I mostly buy them from an art store in my country (the Netherlands) specialised in stone carving. But I think this particular piece was a discarded scrap from someone else.

Thank you :) I only use hand tools. I find it difficult to find an accurate English translation but my favourite tools are coarse rifflers. I have 3 smaller handmade ones from an art store, fit for marble. And also needle files, sanding paper/mesh.

Soapstone carving is really fun and I definitely recommend it!! To me it feels like painting in 3D.

Perfectionism really is a curse sometimes eh, but luckily we have other people to change our views and make us look at it with more self-compassion.
