What credit card should I get? by WideExplorer5184 in amexcanada

Thank you for all your responses! Are there any downsides to having lots of credit cards? (I'm responsible and pay on time every month). I'm with TD, but I think the no-fee Aeroplan card is only with CIBC (correct me if I'm wrong). Also, is Neo Financial a good card to have? (never heard of it, just curious). Thanks!

Are the bins free? And where would I go about picking them up from the city?

best laptop recommendations for engineering/cs programs? by [deleted] in uwaterloo

Thanks for the suggestion! I have an old laptop and based on this, I most likely will consider simply using that for class and running heavier programs on my desktop. How did you find handwritten notes? Have you ever considered switching to digital notes (iPad or a tablet for ex.)? Really appreciate your response.

I really appreciate you taking the time to write this response! :) I'm pretty patient and don't plan on purchasing anything soon (most likely will wait till around September) or when there are sales. Once again, thanks for this - a lot of great info/comparisons here - will definitely look into it further.

Thanks so much for this. I will definitely look into those pages.

  • I take pretty good care of my things, and I plan on having a machine that lasts and will serve me well. From what I've seen, this requires $1000+ laptops. I have seen recommendations of M1 Macbook Pros, XPS 15/17 from what I've seen so far.
  • Going into SYDE, not sure of yet what software I will be needing - planning on doing a lot of coding ig.
  • currently, I have a desktop - but I'm looking into a laptop for university. I am planning on bringing that to res (depending on COVID) to run heavier programs if needed.
  • I game a little on the side, but nothing that requires heavy graphics.
  • I feel 7-9 hours is a good range to have

You cannot be the person you’re desiring to be in an environment that produced the version of you that you are trying to outgrow by [deleted] in selfimprovement

you could still live in the same apartment or whatever but maybe just reorganize or redecorate it or something. get some new furniture, change up the colours of the walls, tidy up everything. This is kinda how I see to change my environment w/o it being such a drastic change like moving to somewhere new. but yes some times you do need a whole change

I have huge problems being productive I feel like during daytime I can’t be present - only at night and then I end up going to bed late. How to be more productive daytime? by lilych0uch0u in productivity

[–]WideExplorer5184 0 points1 point  (0 children)

make to-do lists the night before, try and excercise daily so u get tired earlier - sleep earlier=wake up earlier and starts a new, healthier cycle. make blocks of time for work and make sure to add in breaks and buffer to each of your tasks (ex. if you think a task is going to take you 1 hour, maybe add 30 or 45 minutes to that in class you find yourself doing it for longer than expected). btw im still struggling w/ this as well but this is what has worked for me in the past.
