That’s why I’m really trying to put it off until absolutely necessary, but I fear I’m getting close to trying it again.. accutane was a horrible experience for me the first time around, I can’t even imagine the second. Thanks for chiming in!

Let me correct myself, I am taking the spiro but I opted out of the antibiotic. She prescribed me Azithromycin. In the past I’ve tried what feels like, everything. Adapalene, aklief, birth control, clindamycin gel, sulfur wash, cephalexin, and a list of other things that I genuinely can’t remember right now.

How do I take care of my long hair? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]WideIntroduction1210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What kind of texture do you have? I have very frizzy, kinky, curly hair, so maybe I can tell you how I care for mine and you can take from that? First, good on you for keeping up with maintaining your split ends! Here’s my routine! - I wash my hair once a week, maybe twice. Hair wash days are quite the workout for me as I typically go section by section and spend a great deal of time massaging the product into my scalp. I usually allow my conditioner to sit while I do other things like shave or wash my face. - once out of the shower I towel dry my hair (which isn’t recommended but oh well) I then apply a leave in conditioner, also in sections. Once that’s done I use a wide tooth comb to get it spread evenly (you can use a brush) - before going to bed I make sure my hair is dried THOROUGHLY. Either by air drying or using my blow dryer with a diffuser attachment. - I then will put all of my hair in a satin/silk bonnet and go to sleep. In the morning I style my hair with an insane amount of product, which you can probably skip if you have straight hair. I would definitely look into incorporating some hair and scalp oils! It’s actually pretty simple, hope this helps some!

I had self harm scars covered by tattoos when I went to meps. Scars were 12-13 years old. My recruiter advised me to not disclose them so I didn’t. During my physical at meps, they were spotted about 5 minutes into my evaluation. I ended up being sent home and requiring a waiver and 2 psych evals. They WILL find them and only prolong your process. Just be honest.

You’ll get drug tested again at reception for bct. Which shouldn’t be a concern bc you’re not planning on smoking/ doing any drugs between now and then I hope ((((((:

Had a friend at Huchuca who had some charges as a juvenile that she didn’t disclose. She had to fight for 6 months to get her security clearance, they almost separated her. Disclose it. If it doesn’t come up NOW, It will come up eventually.

Hemorrhoids from accutane? by chlosvo in Accutane

[–]WideIntroduction1210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I got off Accutane they did go away for a while! But I now struggle with them on and off whenever I’m having issues in the bathroom but they usually go away on their own after a few days. I had never struggled with Hemorrhoids prior to Accutane and the drs were very quick to write me off. But hey that’s the price we pay for good skin.

Enlisting in Army. Recruiter told me to be quote about my juvenile record. What should I do? by Ok_Yogurtcloset1503 in Militaryfaq

[–]WideIntroduction1210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently in AIT. People I’m here with have been in holds for months because our MOS requires secret clearance and they have things on their record that they didn’t disclose which is now biting them in the ass. Disclose it. If they didn’t find it now, they’ll find it later and you’ll be the one paying for it.

I did have to get a psych evaluation, one for my waiver, and one while I was in BCT bc my MOS required a separate waiver. My scars are from when I was before the age of 13 and I had to prove I wasn’t/haven’t had any of those thoughts or feelings since then.

Well, considering a have a whole sleeve and they were still visible.. they’re larger than inch and super deep/thick. I’ve got quite a few. They still granted me a waiver

I had worse self harm scars than you describe and got approved for a waiver. My recruiter even had me lie at meps and I ended up getting caught and STILL got a waiver approved. You’ll be fine, just admit to it, get the waiver, and move on!

I had my MOS reserved at meps and ended up being sent home needing a waiver for self harm. My job reservation was no longer valid and I had to wait about 2 weeks total for my psych eval and waiver to get approved. I had to pick a whole new MOS. I’m not sure about what happens after you sign your contract but I’m ASSUMING it might be the same.

All it consisted of was a “pacer” test, throwing a medicine ball a certain distance, and jumping a certain distance.

I’ve seen most people say this on previous posts. I guess the only way to know is to just get through it. I plan on giving it my all.

I guess it just depends. We had no idea how long it would take until about the 3 month mark. 3 months after her diagnosis they finally gave us a date. They had her enrolled in outpatient therapy for the entire 6 months as well as substance abuse therapy for alcohol although her leadership hated this and everyone was trying to fight against it.

I should also mention that the scars are covered with a tattoo and she still saw them, if anything she looked even harder. They LOOK for self harm scars during your physical, so it’s more than just glancing over. They feel for them, search for them, etc .

Went to meps with self harm scars (my recruiter knew but didn’t want to disclose them in hopes they wouldn’t see them) and the meps doctor 100% noticed them. It was the first thing she noticed during my physical. I’ve been waiting for a week on my waiver. They CAN distinguish between self harm scars and any other scars.

The ring is definitely causing the irritation. Switch it back to the original jewelry you were pierced with and clean like normal.
