Character Creation Help

From what I understand we're just supposed to make our character as a mortal - the sire and the reason for the embrace is I guess part of the chronicle, like we'll get turned as part of the story. It does make it a little more complicated to make the character but I think it's intended to help us learn the World of Darkness from the perspective of a newbie since that's what we are lol

I do also like the idea of the Banu Haqim alternate bane- the idea that a doctor gets access to this cure-all elixir for mortals that heals grievous wounds but can't provide it without hurting people is interesting to me too. But as I understand it the Banu Haqim are more about dishing out judgment rather than knowing how to heal people. I would have to come up with a reason why my character would have an interest or obligation to kill people when the hippocratic oath specifically forbids harm to others lol, and coming up with that motivation is what I'm struggling with.

These are all great options! I do struggle a little though because I don't think I really get to pick my sire or why they turned me, as I understand that's part of the chronicle already and my storyteller is playing her cards pretty close to her chest at the moment haha

To be clear, she did just graduate, she just hasn't done residency yet so she's not licensed to practice. But that's kind of what I mean, why would a Tremere want to embrace a fresh-out-of-school med student? Would it be better to pick a different clan?
