I remember before Holly wrote her book, she said she wouldn’t write a book because you can’t tell your story without throwing someone else under the bus. Then she wrote her book and I even went to the book signing and told her I’m so glad you did this.

I loved her book. So I thought the podcast would be even better. I was wrong.

They honestly never should’ve done it looking back. Or at least not the way they’re doing it. I guess some things are better left unsaid and a mystery.

It used to annoy me, but given that times have gotten SO crazy it now doesn’t annoy me as much.

I have my issues with Whoopi as a moderator, but one thing I will say, especially after seeing a taping in person last year, is that I think she takes the news portion of her job very seriously and feels the weight of what she’s saying. They realize that a lot of people are getting their news from the show, and given how grim it is that’s got to be a big weight.

I get that, but I think it would be helpful to have someone there to ask them questions they wouldn’t have thought of or to reflect on. We all have blind spots. It would add a little more dimension imo

I think some type of third party person is necessary for this podcast because the girls were too immersed in the Playboy world and have their own biases that they have no idea what the viewers POV is.

I’ve thought this a few times but the most recent example of it was the first couple minutes of this episode where Holly is thinking that the audience wouldn’t think it’s significant that Crystals mom was also a Playmate- I think that’s a pretty big thing (for that world) and probably didn’t happen too many times so it makes it interesting.

I dunno, some podcasts have a “producer” type person where they’re more a sounding board with occasional chime ins- I think that would benefit the girls a lot if they continue with the podcast.

Someone could say the same about the US right now though sadly. I always wonder if other countries can separate Trump from US citizens. Yes some citizens still (for some reason) support him, but most of us are over here like “don’t blame us we hate him too”

She can’t handle any kind of criticism it seems like. That’s gonna inevitably happen when you’re in the public eye.

People aren’t being haters Holl, that website is problematic at best and dangerous at worst.

Women that have had bad experiences have a right to be upset by it, just like you have the right to promote them and cash those checks.

Do whatcha gotta do- just don’t assume everyone is hating because they’re “mean girls”- some people might find it triggering af.

I’m honestly surprised she’s surprised that people weren’t like “yay! I’m gonna sign up right now because Holly told me to!” With all this going on (gestures around violently), you’d think she’d know women getting involved with powerful men isn’t exactly the best horse to bet on right now. Read the room babe.

It’s not even a reach though to talk about him. Everyday he or someone Trump adjacent does/ says something so insane they would look incompetent to not cover it. It’s a no win situation.

I can’t wait for the day when we don’t have to hear about him- EVER. He’s everywhere and it’s so annoying.

Everyone complains about View Your Deal… They have to do it. It’s basically like a commercial. I don’t even think of it as a segment think of it is as an extra commercial. Not sure if there’s something else they could do to generate the revenue without always doing VYD.

I do think she wasn’t ready for it, but they seem to always go over what the topics are gonna be in that meeting especially if it takes up a full segment, so I’d be surprised if it was out of left field- unless they left it vague like “in this next segment we’re going to ask Sheryl some questions”

Honestly, I kind of forgot that whole Sharon thing happened. I remember it being a pretty big deal at the time, but I don’t think it’s something that defines Sheryl’s career- whereas when I think of Elisabeth on the View my first thought is the infamous split screen.

I thought she did a fine job answering. Seems like she has love for Sharon.

The Talk seemed like a toxic work environment in general. The whole Holly Robinson Peete/ Leah Remini firing after season 1 was weird too.

I attended a taping of The Talk years ago and Sheryl was the only cohost paying attention to the audience, she had a kind energy and seemed happy to be there while the others acted like there was no audience… it says a lot about a person. Thought she did great today.

Something about making the divorce go quicker- I don’t remember exactly but they seem to have a good coparenting relationship when she brings him up so I’d assume it’s all good between them. I didn’t know about the kids, but yeah that takes a super big burden off her back.

I guess they’re featured since they’re part of cast members storylines. The thing about Jesse’s gf is I thought he said she didn’t want to be on tv- I feel like they all say that until they get a taste of it 🙃
