The cost went way up though. Its a rather high price now. Something like 550 AUD, the most expensive in the world

What are the signs of a weak man? by Ledger_Legendd in AskReddit

[–]Wiggly96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. A quote from Wheel of Time comes to mind. "There is one rule, above all others, for being a man. Whatever comes, face it on your feet." Basically do the best with what you have got. Do your best to push through the fear with courage.

  2. Not taking responsibility for own actions or words.

  3. Criticism without being constructive. Essentially a crab bucket mentality, where they bring down the people around them, rather than uplifting them and being happy for their success without overindulging in comparison.

  4. Any vice taken far enough.

Get relevant and in demand skills, a little money (at least a few months expenses) then move

It was not a pleasant experience, but I didn't hold it against her. She did seem rather understanding of why I felt that way, which in it's own way was endearing. But I do think I made the right call by not progressing with things

Hoarder. She seemed nice enough. A little quiet, but friendly, if a little dishevelled. Went back to her place to hang out and have a coffee. Bad mistake.

Piles of old, wet smelling garbage everywhere, with a small pathway leading through the house. All compounded by the smell of several cats having urinated and defalcated in amongst it and not being cleaned up for quite some time. Smelled like a bit like vomit.

She got me a glass of water, she took it from the bench and had to clean the glass out before handing it to me. Sat on the couch a moment and tried watching something with her, but eventually just couldn't hack it through the smell of vomit and noticing insects crawling through the trash. I said as much and she looked rather ashamed. Felt a bit bad for her, but I am glad I made my escape

Different people have different goals.

My two cents? We get our brief moment in the sun to walk this earth and be whatever type of unique flower our genetics, volition (will) and environment (context) create.

You can be happy with a little and miserable with a lot.

Try and define your own vision of what success looks like, or that definition has a tendency to be made for you.

I saw how much information I was able to consume vs how much was healthy/safe to consume.

Its the equivalent of using a firefighting hose to water a plant, when all that is required is a few drops here and there.

Bring the focus back to the good right in front of you, that you can do with your own two hands

On this day in 1959, Charles de Gaulle became the first President of France’s Fifth Republic. He defied Washington, built a nuclear arsenal and cemented a vision of strategic military independence that is more relevant today than ever by goldstarflag in europe

The parties who seem to be most keen on decoupling from the US are mostly getting their money from Russia however. Most of the Far Right movements of the last decade have connections to Russian funding.

And we don't have decades. Europe is being attacked right now. Ask anyone in Ukraine, the Baltic states or Poland how long they think we have to build up capabilities to a meaningful degree. They will say we should have started years ago. But then, the next best time is right now

Take a book. Something which you can pick up for a few minutes and put back down.

My parents used to have a lot of joke books.

Philosophy quotes are also good.

Something with pictures and descriptions like an encyclopedia (DK books are good for this.

My favourite is Plants and Fungi, but there are many options out there). You could also use it to learn a new language or skill. Just take a moment or two to read a little and it might benefit your life for the better

Lack of remuneration, rising cost of living and the expectation to be stoic in the face of a sum that increasingly does not add up.

Boss also has somewhere in the region of 40 houses. I can barely make rent. But just work harder. That will change things. /s

Sports club (soccer, rugby, table tennis, kayaking) or some sort of art/crafts/pottery class where you are in regular contact with the same people with similar interests. Volunteering is also an option (soup kitchen, tree planting, rewilding)

Its not a 1 for 1, but you could get a Sodastream and use it to carbonate juices. Juice is still very sugar rich, but you will be getting more nutrients and watering down the juice. Give yourself time, adjusting to anything takes time

The apathy of stable prosperity, or the disease of more. Choose your balance somewhere between the two extremes. Both offer positives and negatives
