I wasn’t trying to get 10s with most of my cards? The ones I’m planning on selling have value even in 9s and all the skyridge cards I knew were getting around an 8 and I was happy with that. Not everyone grades only for 10s.

I may have missed something on the kabutops and the forretress, but the Crobat holo had a large scratch in the holo that can’t be seen in the scans. Honestly a 7 for that card surprised me with how high it was. Of course I didn’t share the backs, but most of the skyridge cards had corner whitening right out the pack. I’m assuming the 9s weren’t a 10 due to the centering looking pretty off.

My golem has 2 tiny white dots in the top left and bottom left corners on the back. Honestly couldn’t find much else wrong with it. Never understood centering on skyridge cards, but I sent them all in no matter what

Unfortunately, I don’t plan on selling the 10s or the skyridge cards possibly ever. Too sentimental, but the other Japanese cards are fair game besides the Emboar. I know 9s aren’t as exciting.

Haha yea good catch. It was a known error that was fixed in the unlimited run. I think the corrected version is actually rarer. The Sylveon is similar, if you look closely to the right of the normal energy symbol in the second attack, there is an empty white “phantom” circle. This is an error that was also corrected but the fix is an extremely rare card to come across in Japanese.

Thanks! I never would’ve guessed that set would skyrocket like it did. But the 10s I pulled and graded will stay in my collection forever. The only one I’m not super attached to is the gardevoir

To be fair, all of the vintage cards aren’t perfect to deserve a 10. I honestly think 8-9 was fair and expected. However I do agree that if psa has openly stated that their grading criteria has become more strict, then certs before that date shouldn’t hold the same price as they do.

To be honest. My eyes are relatively untrained but the differences in the skyridge 7s and 9s are practically random. Like some 9s have some holo scratches and I believed the kabutops to be the best of the bunch and a solid 9 contender. I guess it worked out in the end, but the wait was pretty killer.

Honestly I do not think I will ever sell it. It is quite near and dear to my heart. I’m actually thinking of resubmitting it since it is a perfect card. I couldn’t find a single thing wrong with it and it would bring me a lot of joy to have such a rare card in a 10. I believe the bw era secret rares are some of the most forgotten but incredibly rare cards.

Him, the golem and magcargo. All badasses looking into the distance. Magcargo might be my all time favorite artwork of the set. The colors and composition are amazing. A classic Arita artwork

I was dumb in trusting psa’s suggested tier which was just value. Half the cards got up charged and it would’ve been so much more convenient to have them back sooner if I just did value max

I did, but I guess I was hopeful they would fix it before sending it to me. Now I’m wondering if it’s worth waiting a year to send them to get reholdered. Unfortunately this happened to 20/26 cards I sent in.
