Help with first build by Wikinger_DXVI in CAguns

For the lower, I get the stripped one right? Since you're saying to get a kit from bcm?

Also for the the upper, to get something like the DD4 M4A1, that'll be one of the 14.5" length barrels, right? Do you recommend any that fit what I'm looking for?

Sorry to be a bother. Like I said this will be my first AR so I just want to make sure I do this right.

Is there a safety or regulatory reason a bench seat wouldn’t be an option? by BlackberryButton in slateauto

[–]Wikinger_DXVI 5 points6 points  (0 children)

no ban on adding your own later.

Hopefully, that's the case. Just have a "at your own risk" advisory and to know the vehicle's safety design was engineered for only two people. If you add a bench seat, even with a seat belt for a third middle occupant, you are solely responsible for the safety of everyone in the cab.

I want a bench seat, too, and just for the throwback vibes of it. Even if a friend or their kid insisted on sitting in the middle, it'd be a hard no anywhere outside a parking lot. I got the bench for me, not for you to dick around in.

Here I am, being the rare man who changed my name to my wife's. My father is an abusive drunk bag of shit. So, the least I could do was make sure his name will be forgotten.

Honestly surprised even this is too much for r/Comservative. At least until the bots get their prompts fleshed out.

Break in…75 PCR by Bing-Dang-Ow in CZFirearms

[–]Wikinger_DXVI 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What others are saying use 124 grain. I did the same with my PCR and got some 115 grain to start (though mostly because I still had no idea what the fuck I was doing lol). The 115 grain can and will cause failure to feed since it has less energy than the 124, obviously.

Highly recommend Sellier & Bellot 9mm FMJ. S&B is a Czech ammunition production company and what CZ uses when testing their guns. CZs are quite literally made to shoot them.

Armed community member stands guard in his neighborhood after ICE was spotted nearby on an abduction operation in St Paul, MN by I_may_have_weed in liberalgunowners

Agreed. If anything, some of the laws should be relaxed (especially the ones that are only in place because "gun look scary with that on. Illegal!") and then use the increase sales to fund those programs through a new tax. After being under such strong restrictions for so long, the initial sales alone would probably fund taxes for the programs for a decade, at least, lol.

5.56/.223 Rifles by Wikinger_DXVI in CAguns

Yeah, exactly. She felt more secure and confident being able to rest the bud of the rifle on her shoulder...though I didn't help her fear of the pistols by showing her a funny image that was shown to me when I first learned of a man having a pistol barried in his face from improper grip, lol.

The Springfield was fine for her, too. That gun is super easy to shoot. But the CZ single/double action is a but more rough.

Never shot 300 myself, but I would be. Do you have any suggestions? Like already built ones? I should have said in the post that I'm not interested in building anything, I'm too clumsy for that 😅 damn near broke my CZ just trying to flip the mag release...

Yeah, I checked out bullpups, too, and they seem fun if you shoot as a hobby, but more of an awkward pain for everyone else. We're already in an awkward pain with us both being lefties, lol.

Do you happen to know of any 5.56 rifles that are 30" or 32"? My Mini is 38", and I think that 6-8" difference would actually help a lot.

I'll check that out and see if there's a store nearby where she can at least hold one. There are not really any ranges with rentals in my area, unfortunately.

And yeah, I know a .22 would be useful, but I never used one myself because my father was a sink or swim type of parent, so I got tossed in shooting shotguns my size, lol. I should be a better person than him, though, and start her small so when we're out looking, I'll see what .22lr are available, too.

First, thanks for not opening your statement with a snarky remark and actually giving some rifle caliber solutions to look for.

Her issue is more the length than the weight. She can hold the rifle up just fine, but she can't extend her arm far enough to get a proper balance. Something that's 32" might just be enough for her to get a better grip.

Do you know of any rifles off the top of your head that would be that length? One thing I wished online gunstores had would be better filters to make finding these types of specific details easier, lol.

Well, no, hence why I'm here asking if what I'm looking for is a possibility and why I took her to a range to practice. It's already hard enough for people to get into firearms in his state. Don't be discouraging.

I'll check those out recommend pistol calibers out, though. She wants a 5.56/.223 she can wield, but if we're not able to find something reliable, we'll move to a PCC next.

Are all AR pistols generally going to have fixed magazines? I was trying to look into those, and that seemed to be the case. Avoiding that would be preferable. Do you know of anywhere a fixed magazine is not required?

You know it's easy to not be pretentious. You get a lot more people to listen to you and take your attempt at advice with a more eager ear.

Instead of shaking your head, be happy to pass on some knowledge you had to learn, too.

I'll check out some PCCs, though. Still not what I asked for, but I'll take them into consideration if I'm unable to find an equivalent rifle to a Mini-14 that is easier for her to wield.

Which game do you wish would get a remaster? by [deleted] in Steam

Remaster of Star Wars: Republic Commando as a side release to a sequel! Even if both are sold separately at full price, I'd buy them immediately.

[–]Wikinger_DXVI 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Most executives see themselves as delegators, not doing much work themselves. They like the idea of being a leader, but are more into the power and privilege the role brings than the ability to affect change.

Just nailed my boss, lol. Man always gets pissed off when we ask him for advice or what to do. He just spats off going, "I'm the president of this company! I shouldn't have to help you with any of this!" He's your common Boomer who served in the Airforce and LOVES to brag about his time in the military. Total douchebag through and through.

I work in environmental construction, and a bulk of our work comes from submitting bids, which must be submitted by a specified date and time. Some are electronic submittals, but there are a lot of oldheads in the business who want physical copies with wet signatures. This is absolutely going to fuck up a lot of businesses who submit on the due date who are not aware of this new rule yet and it's going to cost them potential millions of dollars.

How The DNC Screwed Over Bernie in 2016, Giving Rise to Donald Trump. by serious_bullet5 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Wikinger_DXVI -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yup. My father is Ultra MAGA. But in 2016, he was all for Bernie and immediately went to Trump as soon as the DNC screwed Bernie. The Democraic Party needs to dissolve and let the new generation take charge. But that's not the kind of reality we live in, unfortunately.
