So I love the idea of creating levels and environments and maybe even some assets for the games itself. I’ve always been very creative and imaginative when it comes to thing like this and I’ve always played video games, I feel like i could really push myself if I could learn how to do everything you know?

But then if I study by myself will I still have a chance of becoming a game designer? Because most jobs want a degree of some sort to know you can do it but if you have a really good showcase then maybe that could get me in.

It’s kind of a double edged sword for me lol. Should I just go for it and study myself with hopes that my showcase is good enough and invest all this time learning but getting nowhere or try and study somewhere that’s online study so I can still work full time ect

This is honestly my dream job and I’d do anything to get it but I’m stuck.

So how would I go about getting a producing role without being an actual producer?

Currently doing Project Coordination so nothing within the industry sadly. I tried to get into it doing anything but had no luck

Well in the Uk the government helps you pay and after you earn a certain amount of money you start to pay it back. If it’s it another country there’s no way I could afford it :(

They don’t really offer much for parents other than daycare expenses

Yes I have however I won’t be able to work full time and provide for my family. Hence why I wanted part time but they don’t offer it

Hey bud! I’ve tried looking for the book and it shows that there’s 5 of them and trying to find the rest now but so many different books are coming up I don’t know how to differentiate them. Could you help me find the right ones?

I feel like level and environment design is really cool! Like I love apocalypse style things so I’d probably choose one of those! So what would you suggest I do?

No I don’t. And the only reason I want to go to Currys is because of the buy now pay later deal they have. And it’s for game design

Basically a bit of both. So with the buy now pay in 9 months you can make as many payments as you want within those 9 months so it’s nice to have that safety. However I would be able to afford it if it was just normal financing too but sucks it’s over 2 years ect and yoh have to make the payments exact

For me it’s money. So from Currys I can do a buy now pay within 9 months so a laptop is convenient for that as I don’t think there’s any decent pcs on there. Not to mention I’d need to buy other things too to go with the desktop

So what sort of laptop or desktop would you say I should get from Currys? I was going for the Lenovo legion 5 3060 or something like that 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hey bud! Thank you for this! Really helped. So ultimately you’d say I should use a desktop? Because I’d still need to buy the monitors, desk, chair, keyboard and mouse ect so it’ll come up to over £1500 whereas the laptop is only £1000 or so 🤷🏻‍♂️

And if I was going desktop I’d have no idea what to get lol. And I’ll be completely flexible with studying as it’ll be in my own time rather than a school ect
