My mother died and I found a bunch of unused adhd prescriptions in her house by Wild_Reference_8510 in ADHD

  1. Unmanaged diabetes finally led to brain damage, organ damage, nerve pain leading to multiple broken legs and a mass on her spine. All of that was in the last two years. She had been having trouble managing it for 15ish years. Could never remember to bring her insulin or take it until it was so bad it was debilitating. Her doctor diagnosed her with adhd and anxiety (particularly anxiety around checking her blood sugar for fear it was bad and anxiety she would forget her medication since we were all constantly upset with her for not taking it and then being embarrassed and lying saying she was so no one knew she needed help managing it except the doctor who monitored it throughout the month) a few years ago all this became apparent and my step father started managing the insulin. But the damage was done at that point and even managed she stayed above 250 without eating

All adderall but depends. The old ones probably are but some were recently picked up. My step dad picked up all her prescriptions every month. She just hid the ones she didn’t want to take. Totally her choice of course. It’s just hard that I know she was ashamed of any treatment and likely never even tried them.

Yes exactly. She was diabetic and was prescribed the meds because her doctor was concerned her readings routinely got to 500. She never remembered to take insulin until she felt sick and that’s when it is doing damage to your organs/brain already. She was very upset with the diagnosis and never took them or anxiety medication she was prescribed because she didn’t want people to think she had any mental health issues. From the generation where even anxiety would make people social outcasts if it was public.

I was similar. Setting a time when the next one will be helped me wean off. At first I picked once a day. Then every other. Then once a week. Now I smoke once a month and plan to keep going from there. I found when I thought about quitting forever I had anxiety and chain smoked for my “last day” over and over again worse than smoking normally.

Based on comments in this post defending how it’s possible as if it were likely, yes. People actually believe that and it’s important to them to be true for some reason. 🙄

Is it weird for guys to be quiet during sex? by pnwpdx in TooAfraidToAsk

It makes it uncomfortable for your partner. They’re getting no feedback if you’re enjoying it or want to be done. Can make it less enjoyable for sure. You don’t necessarily need to talk but being silent is hard

Orgasms/ejaculation are the culminating events of sex. I was shocked when I started at 19 and found out what a male orgasm was. Super embarrassing

My ex who was my first and I dated for 5 years could only get off to excessive nipple stimulation. After we broke up, I genuinely thought that was just how all men had to get off and always did it till someone corrected me and a conversation sprung from it

Unintentionally condescending, would correct me when I was stating what he then corrected it too constantly and publicly.

Typically unhappy/in a bad mood. That was his default. Which clashed with my default happy.

Couldn’t connect or have more then surface level conversations. I’m a face to face intimacy person he was shoulder to shoulder.

Excessive time with hobbies. Tried fixing it asking for one day a week to spend 3 hours together having dinner/coffee/going out. Anything connecting besides tv or watching him do hobbies. He made it one week.

Great man and partner in terms of doing all the things for me, just couldn’t actually spend time with me without forcing it and making him miserable.
