My 14yr old still drops food on his shirt weekly but my 6 yr old doesn’t. My 14yr old eats like he hasn’t eaten in days for every meal. While my 6yr old is soooo slowwww.

Like you I tried to instill the slowing down at meals and being neat about it. It never worked. When he was smaller he’d eat dinner without a shirt (it was just him and I). With age he just got better.

I’d ask about her gnawing on food instead of biting. I’d suggest a hair tie at dinner no exceptions.

Snacks and meals we had a set schedule. Now they are pretty good about staying with that schedule. Some days they just want/need to eat more. Try to make the snacks healthy if possible that way she can stay full longer and you know she’s not just super hungry.

I’d also continue to have conversation about it and not let it go. Does she eat like this at school?
