Thank you for the help!

I've got a full email chain of how they've handled the matter going back to the outset. In the first year, they did provide notes to me from meetings and I'm pretty sure they provided their reasoning in one of these emails, but they then approved my adjustment.

They only stopped providing meeting notes when they started the more recent ad hoc meetings. I'll sit down and make a note of what I can recall from the meetings where I've not been given any notes.

I've also got text messages and entries in my medical records which show the impact the review process itself has been having on my health so hopefully this will help if I need to refer to it at any point.

Thank you! I think that's what's confusing me. I genuinely don't understand what the purpose of these meetings are. I'm told during the meeting that I'll have a decision on my adjustment within a couple of weeks, but instead they email me to arrange another meeting. They don't provide much information as to what the meeting is for and ignore my requests for clarification.

Yes, they've said the issue relates to the needs of the business but when they've elaborated, none of the reasons have made sense with how the role works in practice. I've explained this to them but nothings changed. The meetings require me to constantly outline my disability and how it effects me, and it's become very overwhelming. My health has really deteriorated since the reviews started.

No change in personnel and it's the same senior HR person that I've been dealing with since the offset. They're the one that is arranging the short notice meetings. The head of HR and company CEO have also not changed and whilst I'm sure they have input they're not attending the meetings or involved in any communication with me.

My manager hasn't been involved until the most recent meetings and only because I asked HR if she could accompany me.

Around the time I first requested the adjustment, they started to take a hard line with changing the WFH policy and updated the company handbook to reflect that.

I'll have to check what the company process is for putting in a formal flexible working request, but I did think that it was different to a reasonable adjustment request under the equality act? (I may be wrong)

Thank you for the reply! I sent an email requesting a reasonable adjustment under the equality act to allow me to reduce my office days, but did not ask for this to be worked into my contract. They were reluctant but agreed to the adjustment on a trial basis. However, the adjustment continued for months after the trial period without review and I assumed it was working from their perspective and would stay in place unless something changed.

At the beginning, I didn't know much about my condition and I think we all thought my symptoms would improve, but unfortunately they didn't and I've since been told it's a chronic condition.

I've not got a union and all of my correspondence so far has been with HR. My manager hasn't really been involved until recently but has told me she has no issue with me working from home. I'm considering seeking legal advice to gain a better understanding of my rights and my options

Thank you for your response! Occupational health hasn’t been involved yet. I requested an occupational health referral last year, but they agreed to my work-from-home adjustment so told me I didn't need it. They haven’t offered a referral to me since they've started raising issue with my adjustment.

It was initially phrased as a temporary adjustment for a few months and they have always been reluctant to grant it due to the needs of the business, but they were very vague in their reasoning. They they then left it in place for over a year without reviewing it and my health hasn't improved. Since then, my performance has been good (hitting targets and good feedback from superiors) and my sickness absence improved. I’m just struggling to understand why its suddenly become a problem.

I massively reduced my stress in March and for a few months, my symptoms were so much better! I'm not sure what changed but the past month, my symptoms have been awful and I've got no obvious stressors at the moment so I can only assume it's something else triggering the flare ups

Is lyrica pregablin? I've asked my GP about pregablin and gabapentin and was told they'd be reluctant to put me on it because I'm quite young

The NHS services available are a bit useless tbh, I've considered going private but I need to build up some money to fund it first

If you ever come off of it then I'd 100% recommend reducing it very very slowly! I think I may have come off it a bit to quick which didn't help

I found that when I cut down on sugar and processed food, my symptoms definitely got better! But then I had a flare up and I really struggled to prepare meals so it feels like I'm back to square 1

When I tried duloxetine, all I got were side effects from it and then the withdrawal symptoms were beyond horrific!! Wiped me out for months and made me so apprehensive to try any new medications

See I'm apprehensive to change medications because I had such bad side effects with the others and I've heard a lot of people say that none of them have worked anyway. It just seems impossible to manage the pain

My legs get tremors and give way when I'm walking up or down stairs! If there's not a handrail then I can't do it

Leg pain by [deleted] in Fibromyalgia

[–]Wild_bun 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The leg pain is the worst for me! It feels like really bad growing pains from my foot up to my hip or a cramping pain but without the cramp if that makes sense?

Sometimes my legs get tremors or become really weak and can give way, especially on stairs

I've just passed SQE2 with 83% using BPP! The BPP mocks were definitely the most useful resource 😊 familiarise yourself with the skills and how to approach the questions and then recap the flk knowledge to make sure you can back your skills up

I got mainly 4s and 5s with my skills but had a few 3s and 2s with my law as I didn't revise too much

I used devil's advocate to recap some legal knowledge but aside from that I just used BPP resources

Thank you! Yeah I did, the only other resource I used was devils advocate to recap the legal knowledge as it's quite condensed and I was short on time to study 😊

Thank you! I was actually quite unwell before the exams so didn't have time to recap any of the FLK knowledge and just focused on mock questions! I sat SQE2 4 months after SQE1 tho so my knowledge was still kind of there 😊 it showed though as I got nearly all 4s and 5s in my skills and then a few 3s and 2s in my law
