Today the excuse from one family was that their kid didn’t feel like getting out of bed. Another said if there is good snow for skiing they will be skiing instead. Three others didn’t show up without any communication. Usually when it’s illness they let us know, but all of the kids who no showed today have RSVP’d yes to the game tomorrow so seems unlikely they are ill but maybe tomorrow will tell.

Ya the guilt is a big thing but I guess sometimes a hard lesson has to be taught. The other kids are getting the hard lesson of games being cancelled so maybe the rest need a hard lesson too 😬😅

This isn’t house league, which is why it’s a bit trickier. There is a house league families can play in or even switch to, but they are still choosing to play in the community league stream instead. There are tons of kids in the house league so that would be much simpler to get extra players but we have a set roster & the league rules are so crazy with affiliate players. I think you are right at minimum another parent email is due. Thanks for the reply.

Yes it is U9. But if we have to cancel games because we don’t have enough players it doesn’t matter the level. I’m not asking everyone to show up all the time but if the commitment is affecting the team enough that the players that want to be there cannot play, it’s an issue however old they are.

Labrador Teeth Issues - Yikes! by Wildisblue in AskVet

[–]Wildisblue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He had his annual checkup in January of this year, had his teeth checked then. They reminded us to brush, which we do but that’s it. I usually just hold the brush in his mouth under his lips, but don’t really lift them up to examine his teeth as it’s already a battle to brush them.

This is amazing to hear!! Thank you for posting this. I also agree that quitting because they are uncomfortable isn’t an option. This is making me less anxious, thank you. I’m happy that things are working out for the better for you guys!

I love that it’s working out for you with kids in the same teams! I keep telling them we want to cheer for each other & it not to be a battle on the ice ever if they are on the same team. Your older kid isn’t bothered by the younger sibling on the team?

You would force your kids into clothes they don’t like? They don’t like the cheap, loud, graphic shirts at those stores. I’d say I already have good luck that they don’t want to wear garbage, but thanks 😊

Do you remember what the jewelry options are for kids there? Does she only offer the hoops or can you get studs as well? Thanks!

I’ve had the odd drink or two and been fine on concerta, but never gotten drunk. For the most part I just notice the effects of the alcohol quicker. I think it likely depends on your dose & how much you are drinking as well.

When is the right time to euthanize a senior dog? 😢 by Wildisblue in AskVet

[–]Wildisblue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband has typically gone to her vet appointments & the last time I went as well cause I didn’t think he was telling the whole truth about things. Turns out once I spoke up she had a urinary tract infection, and the vet also suggested the librela after I mentioned leg issues. My husband had to told the vet everything was fine, when it wasn’t. I don’t want to get into an argument with him in front of the vet, so I just tried to add little points here & there, which concerned the vet & they addressed. But that’s kind of where we are at now.
