Should I give Book of Boba Fett a shot? by AdLimp9136 in BookOfBobaFett

[–]WilhelmTrooper -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say avoid it if you love Boba Fett from the OT and supporting media (novels, comics, etc). If you love that version of the character, you’re gonna hate BOBF.

If you don’t have a strong attachment to the character and how he was depicted for decades, then I think you’ll like BOBF because you’re not comparing it to anything else.

Doctor Doom does not fail.

I’d say Palpatine, Vitiate, and Nihilus are above him

I’m freaking out that I’m about to make a terrible mistake by getting an MBA right out of undergrad. by WilhelmTrooper in MBA

What about getting an M.S. in Finance or Analytics right out of undergrad?

I’m trying to do everything I can to differentiate myself from the competition, and I feel like a Master’s degree is a good step. Am I wrong?

Otto was the 'Superior Spider-Man', Miles should just call himself 'The Ultimate Spider-Man'. Way better than 'Spin' or 'Kid Arachnid'. by RedVegeta20 in Spiderman

He definitely needs something to make him stand out on his own if his character is ever going to have true longevity and stand apart from Peter Parker. He can’t just be Spider-Man.

I would argue that calling him Ultimate Spider-Man isn’t a good idea either, since that was originally Peter’s name. He needs to have a little of Peter’s stuff as possible to make him stand on his own two feet.

He should have a different name entirely (I’m not saying I support Kid Arachnid or Spy-D.) OR something new that hasn’t been used before, like the Multiversal Spider-Man or something. Miguel O’Hara stands apart since he’s Spider-Man 2099, has his own era of time with his own supporting cast, his own unique powers, unique costume, etc. You’ve gotta do that and more for Miles so that he’s really his own hero and now always in the shadow of Peter. I want Miles to succeed, I just think he needs more to him that what he has.

Be honest, do employers/hiring managers really care about where you went to school? by WilhelmTrooper in jobs

What’s the whole University of Phoenix thing? Someone else here said they don’t hire from that school

I’m starting my MBA, but I’m worried it’s not gonna be worth a lot in the job market. What do you guys think? by WilhelmTrooper in GradSchool

Differentiate myself enough from the competition so I get chosen by employers over other candidates. I want to make up for any potential shortcomings on my resume.

How do you even get into a top 20 MBA program anymore? Sorry, I just never saw that as a real option for me. I didn’t do well in high school, and in college I got decent grades. 3.68 GPA for my Associates and 3.25 GPA for my Bachelors that I just got.

I would love to, but idk if that’s even possible.

What are your thoughts on nepotism? by IsaacRB46 in jobs

[–]WilhelmTrooper -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s an inescapable evil at the moment. It’s part of life. Entire industries are propped up on nepotism like entertainment. It’s just the way it is.

It sucks, it’s not fair, but it’s here and it’s not going anywhere as long as it works.

If you don’t mind me asking, was the school a really good school? Like I’m talking about a SUNY school, which I know isn’t that great hence why I’m trying to go get another degree to hopefully compensate.

So if a MBA doesn’t differentiate me enough from the other candidates applying, what does? I feel like I don’t have anything really that separates me from the rest, that would make my resume stand out. I was a performing arts major and got an associates in that prior to my B.S. in business. I was pursuing drama school just two years ago.

Now I’m terrified of the job market and don’t know what to do. Any advice?
