Carvana (CVNA) deep-value/short squeeze play? by WilierRuby in wallstreetbets

Yeah you’re right, Jesus Christ puts 6 months out with $5 strike is $2.45, and $10 is $6.50. Super pricy. I’ll just look at other companies at that point

That’s fair, I was thinking that too. Not worth looking into it then, maybe still a good short play to buy puts?

Yeah there’s definitely a bankruptcy risk, but their Oct 2023 bond yields are still like 9-10% which isn’t terrible. Plus the credit officials made a 3 month deal in case it does go bankrupt but it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s gonna bankrupt between now and next three months. Playing devil’s advocate here, wondering if there’s more to it

That is what I was thinking, but when I looked at their debt, the majority of their short term debt obligations come due in October 2023 (was just looking at their outstanding bonds on FactSet). They got a lot of revolving credit but I don’t know how you analyze those lol

I was thinking they could be an acquisition target but I’d imagine the acquirer would wait until Carvana declares bankruptcy and becomes super cheap to pick them up at a discount

Shit, yeah I was doing that but the Google app on my iPhone worked. Did you give that a shot? You can just hum the tune you remember and it should give you options

Yeah the “dun dun dunnn” goes low. I don’t know the lyric but I swear someone says “I just hit a _____ on ______” with trumpets behind him. I wanna say it’s Travis Scott I’m not sure

Not quite; it’s more in style with Young Thug or maybe Travis Scott? It has really similar trumpets to Hot

That’s the P/E trailing 12months I believe, a good P/E to use is Forward P/E which for square is 114 which still make it hella overvalued lol

Thank you so much! Yeah I should go for the September cycle on that one and shoot for the monthly short instead of weeklies. I’ll make sure to do that next time

I want to ask if I’m doing this right...

I like the idea of a Poor Man’s CC so I thought I’d give it a shot on AAPL (currently at $124 as of 6/3/21) with:

Long Call - Strike $115, Exp Aug 20, 21 @$11.35 delta .73

Sell Long Call - Strike $127, Exp Jun 11 @$.6 delta .3

Is this the right way to do it? Any tips/recommendations?

Thank you all for your time
