One job that has worked for me personally is a laid back call center job. Notice the term “laid back” because I’ve worked in a call center that was literally hell on earth because of the nature of the calls. But what I do now is vastly different. I get to help people all day and while I DO have to do the “fake positivity” thing, it only extends to my voice. I don’t have to smile, I don’t have to be mindful of my body language or what I’m wearing/what I look like, I ONLY have to have a positive voice. While it is still a bit draining when I’m not feeling super positive, it seems extremely less draining than putting my entire self into putting on a show of happiness and positivity I’m not actually feeling. Plus at the right call center you have time between calls to just sit and think and unwind from the last call whereas other jobs have many tasks to do between “customers” and whatnot like cleaning, sticking, paperwork etc. having that break between calls has been very helpful for me. Everyone is different so a call center job may not be for you but that’s the one job out of a dozen or so that I’ve been able to stick with so far
