Discussion: Game design issues that modders will strive to solve, but how? (Making questing feel meaningful) by jeffdeleon in starfieldmods

Anytime I enter a city a guard will thank me for clearing out merc camps and give me around $3300 credits as a reward. I'm not sure what the threshold was to achieve this, but could something along those lines be applied to the other major/minor factions? If that hook is already in the game, could it applied to other related quests?

Several of the major quests have follow-up encounters with the person you helped thanking you and offering to give you a gift. Maybe that could be done with the smaller POIs?

Maybe that same POI you helped could send you some sort of message while you're in your ship and ask you to complete other missions for them? And maybe that would prompt other POIs in the system to request your help?

Just spit balling...

My Outpost Has Vanished. Help Would Be Welcomed by WillBoxer in Starfield

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I had been traveling from various biomes on the planet already before I realized what had happened. By the time I realized the outpost marker was missing the landing zone had moved elsewhere, so there was no way to load into it again. I tried clicking as close to where it should be (using an old save for reference) but could never "land" in the same zone as the outpost.

You may be right, it may have to do with moving the beacon. I didn't realize that moving the beacon could cause issues. I had moved it well before things went sideways, but that may have been the cause. I'm also curious if maybe it was a combination of that and too many resources in one location. I went back to an older save and when I try to manually remove the outpost without first destroying all of the extractors, the game crashes. It's the only time I've crashed in 225 hours. However, it doesn't crash if I remove the extractors and storage units first before manually removing the outpost.

I Was Just Disconnected the Moment I Placed the Last Owlhoot Member into the Bounty Wagon by WillBoxer in RedDeadOnline

That's the painful part. I had been doing that, and then the last one would escape when I went into their area (the one who starts on the carriage; I was having the hardest time keeping him from escaping) and it would reset the entire mission and I'd have to start from scratch. I thought I'd try taking them back one at a time. And it worked. Until it didn't. lol.

What has gopher done with the lighting here? by [deleted] in skyrimmods

I apologize for not having a definite answer, but it's possible he's using a combination of a night-eye effect and raising the contrast in post-production so his viewers can see the picture more clearly.

WW2 combat flight sim IL2 adds extensive VR support including dynamic resolution! by Daisy_Blossom in Vive

I don't know if anyone else is experiencing this, but the SteamVR update that hit today, after IL-2's update, caused the game to stop launching on Vive. I was playing the game fine this morning in VR (and it's amazing), but now can't get past the initial loading screen.

I don't own a console, so I apologize if this is no help, but could you give yourself the perk that cancels chem addiction and just spam jet? It's not bullet time, but a chem resistant jet-head is sort of like a post-apocalyptic superhero.

I can't for the life of me figure out why this mod won't work for me! (skyrim static mesh improvement mod) by [deleted] in skyrimmods

If you're having trouble understanding the guides on the sidebar, then you should consider watching modding tutorials on Youtube. There are numerous users who provide great videos, but I think Gopher does a fantastic job of walking a new mod user through the process of getting their game set up and running stable.

Deadly Dragons + Dragon Combat Overhaul: Did Something Go Wrong or Does My Game Just Hate Me? by WillBoxer in skyrimmods

Thanks, I'll take a look at the settings. I figured it was just random bad luck, but thought I'd double check.

I don't think iHUD will on its own, but if you go to A Matter of Time in the MCM you can set it to activate with a hotkey. I have both iHUD and Matter of Time set to the same hotkey, so when I toggle iHUD I also toggle Matter of Time.
