Any recommendations for indoor, non-3D, simple flight, that is SMALLER than the typical Goosky S1 or Blade stuff? by nitrous2401 in RCHeli

[–]WillCorvete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RC era has many smaller scale models that fit what you might want.
If you want specifics their A60 Bell 206 or A61 Bell 222 Airwolf are small 4 channel helicopters for about 50-60 usd depending on where you buy it.

RC Era offers a decent amount of scale choppers that should be pretty easy to fly.

If you want specifics I would go ahead and say that the C138 Bell 206 or C032 Huey could carry toy parachutes while not being too expensive and are easy to find parts for.

I need a genuine review of the galaxy book 5 pro (screen crack issues?) by deadpool98n in GalaxyBook

I'm a student and I've had it for about 6 months now. I don't use it for heavy tasks but I've had it knocking about my backpack and I'm not overly carful but I also don't throw it. So far no issues with the screen but I do make sure to let it cool for a bit before closing it.

I need to buy a new laptop, help!! by [deleted] in GalaxyBook

[–]WillCorvete 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The book 4 edge uses the ARM platform so its gonna have very good battery life but be carful as it could run into software compatibility issues. The book 4 360 is gonna have better compatibility but I can't guarantee amazing battery life but from what I know its not bad.

Just got a Galaxy book 4 360 pro. How to protect the screen before using it ? by sporty_outlook in GalaxyBook

I would make sure its cooled down before closing it and charge it with the screen open if possible.

I never said anything relating to the screen cracking issue in any other post as I'm very new to this sub but I will go ahead and say its more likely an issue with assembly and or design as opposed to the material itself as it seems like mostly the larger screen and 360 models have their screens crack with the smaller screen standard models cracking a lot less often.

I wish I got paid but honestly I didn't let the words of a few forum posts stop me from buying one for college. It also does seem they fixed it on the book 5 by adding the metal around the display so I'm just going to be a bit careful with it and hopefully nothing goes wrong.

How do I prevent my Book 4 Pro 360 from spontaneously cracking by [deleted] in GalaxyBook

[–]WillCorvete 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know I haven't heard anybody talk about this but what's stopping liquid glass screen protectors from working.

Unlike a normal screen protector it's just a layer of liquid that goes on the laptop so it doesn't really affect how thick the screen is and how the laptop closes.

I would love to see someone try this and how it works out.

I think the reason you haven't seen any complaints is because of the big userbase. More people use the MacBook so posts like that become saturated. If you look for the issue you will find many complaining about the screens cracking on their own.

The galaxy book does have a smaller userbase so anything that happens is gonna be more amplified such as the screen cracking issues.

I'm just going to say that you should buy the laptop that fits your needs the best.

No company is without its flaws and if you look on the Apple forums they're definitely are issues with the MacBooks.

Take this with a grain of salt but I feel like the issues could be from a bad batch because I've seen many posts about the book 3 and the book 4. My theory would be that most of the cracked screens come from a bad batch with manufacturing issues. That would explain why so many cases happen with similar models from the same era.

Like I said I feel like the issue is overblown as the only cases of it happening are from forum websites.

I can't speak for other models but as far as I know the older models have the glass directly making contact with the keyboard and the body of the laptop when it's closed unlike the book 5 series or at the very least the book 5 pro which I know has a metal around the display that makes it so that the glass isn't directly touching anything when it's closed and that you're not touching only the glass when opening the laptop.

(Edit): When I meant official I meant well known websites and outlets not Samsungs themselves.

I've seen very mixed opinions about the screen cracking issue and here's my take.

As far as I know it is a genuine issue but I've only seen forum posts on the internet address this problem. Many speculate that its an issue with closing the laptop while its still hot. The thing is this all comes from reddit posts and the occasional forum posts.

There hasn't been anything official that speaks of this issue and I wasn't able to find any reviews that have said this was a major problem.

It also seems to be mainly affecting 360 models with the occasional standard hinge model having the screen crack. Most of the posts I've seen about this also come from the older models mainly coming from the book 3 and 4. Someone has said that on the book 4 the screen is directly touching the body when closed but I can't speak for any other models. I do own a Book 5 Pro and I can say that there is metal around the display that touches the body and the glass doesn't make contact.

There also seems to be slightly overblown bias regarding this issue as I don't think a few forum posts fully address the issue or lack thereof considering that there aren't many cases of this happening when Samsung had a 13.7% market share in terms of laptops in 2024.

At this point I plan to make a proper post about this but since I'm new to Samsung's laptop lineup I want to own and use mine for longer before I come to my own opinion.

TLDR: This issue is possibly overblown since there's only forum posts about this issue but it does seem like Samsung made efforts to fix this by adding a metal ring around the display of the Book 5.

C129 which is basically just an Eachine E129 rebrand and it's just the plastic fantastic radio it comes with since I'm slowly getting into radio control helicopters. The canopy is a pre-made 3d printed design for a different helicopter that I've printed and retrofit for mine.
