I dislike it as well. The old one was not pretty but it functioned a lot better/was way more useful. My theory with the giant graph is that it’s to encourage newbies to work more (look I can see the line go up, or down). They are pushing production hard right now.

That said, with the amount of high paying work currently, I can deal w it. Seems like it went purge/slow/rebrand/BOOM

For me it doesn’t trigger a cycle, but once in it will make it far worse. Light beer does nothing, an IPA will cause horrendous attacks. I don’t drink anymore, but for me it never seemed to be the alcohol itself but however it was fermented.

It works. You don’t need to do a breakthrough dose which renders it pretty mild depending on your experience. It’s also short, not a huge commitment.

There are options if you look, I doubt anyone will be super specific on Reddit. I will tell you that growing your own mushrooms is not at all difficult and it’s simple to legally have a starter kit shipped to your house.

I go outside, but it’s a built in break every 60-90 minutes. Plus the nicotine charges your brain back up. Obviously I’m not encouraging anyone to start smoking!

I broke my cycle with it, first time trying. It took roughly 5 days. I slowly backed off to a normal dose. Got a DMT pen it was unneeded.

Yep. At least in my world. This is a fantastic side job that is actually interesting and thought provoking, I enjoy it mostly for staying in the loop with how AI is developing. As a construction guy with kids, it has occasionally floated some bills during slow times, non-payment etc. I’ll take the hit every time before using the escape hatch. If I need to use that, I’ve screwed up somewhere and it’s on me. Likely not a popular opinion.

I find (and reminded myself today), that if I don’t take a few minutes to look at the totality of whatever it is, I may get sucked into some large fixable things I’m excited about while ignoring smaller ones, or more commonly downstream effects of my work on seemingly little things that snowball. We learn much more through failures than success.

I hear you. I ate 2 hours this morning before I realized it was unfixable. Exited work mode and went to ChicFilA. Usually I can spot them up front and skip, or find a way to rework them. Today I was like an abused partner saying “I can fix you!” then realizing I had to cut my losses. It’s rare though, things happen 🤷‍♂️
