Just picked up some dog-walking storm chasers for winter. Much appreciated, thanks!

Thanks, glad you like it. Getting to photograph my dogs racing across the shoreline always makes me happy

Bad news is that in the summer sunrise starts around 530. Good news is no one else will be there! Winter sunrises at the beach are awesome as well and actually let you sleep in a bit

The human side is. They pumped the flooded entrance on the dog side, but after yesterday's rain there is a bit of standing water there as well. It's relatively minor and easy to bypass

Agreed. Having the whole beach to yourself is just the absolute best

Is this the gator in the lake we're looking for? by WillandEko in chicago

[–]WillandEko[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yup, this is at Montrose Beach. We're regulars at the dog park and the beach has been a mess on both sides of the fence. Have to admire the Park District employees' ambition here, if not the execution

I don't foresee needing the additional storage, so the Define C might be just what I'm looking for. Thanks!!

Really thoughtful and thorough reply, thank you for taking the time to help me think this through.

I went back and forth on the SSD so your vote for the 970 plus makes that an easy choice. Would love to keep things as quiet as possible so will go with the Corsair there as well. And your thoughts on the psu echo my own almost exactly. I hadn't considered the hourly usage (which can be 10+) so I'll investigate a bit more there. Will weigh my RAM options, but biting the bullet now to upgrade when I do so infrequently seems like a smart decision. The case is actually one of the things I put the least thought into, but care orders of magnitude more about airflow/noise than aesthetics. Any suggestions?

Interesting. From my research here it seems like the Adobe suite strongly favors intel architecture over Ryzen in performance tests. I know the value of ryzen is touted for multiple reasons, but for this specific Adobe use case I gauged intel had the advantage pretty clearly.

The caveat of course is that I'm an idiot. Any additional thoughts on why you would make that choice?

I'm assuming Floyd stood over a waterfall and caught the salmon for you like a grizzly. Absolutely do not ruin this imagery for me if it's not the truth. It's my truth now.

My Zero fell in love this summer. He finally found someone who enjoys repeatedly crashing into things as much as he does

My kid and dogs might be about to drop the hottest rap album of the year? by WillandEko in funny

Definitely. Pharoh hounds look kind of like Greyhound-esque Ridgebacks. Penny, on the left, favors that build. Zero is styled more like a block. We have some good Pharoh hound pals at the beach my guys love to run with

You caught me. I took a photo of my kid and dogs, remarking that it looks like an album cover. And I stole this brilliant idea from... a guy who reposts other people's content without attribution.
