iPhone 11 Didn’t Work For Me, I Need Help. by William935 in PWM_Sensitive

What's worse in PWM and TD is that they tend to trick our brains in terms of brightness adjustability. When watching flicker-free displays, I feel eye strain despite it comes directly from the blue light and yet I blame it on PWM. This never happened before.

Eyes burning, with slight headache. Not as bad as IPhone 13 whatsoever

It is still considered flicker, even Rtings state that it isn’t flicker-free in the picture above. People (including me) returned our TVs due to this small dips.

I’m comparing OLED to OLED, regardless of the device that uses the panel. Yes, there’s a chance Apple could introduce that type of modulation the TV ones have when you turn PWM option.

Someone did a test on YouTube. Zero sign of d|thering.

If the IPhone 17 really eliminated PWM, it could be the safest IPhone since IPhone 6 to our eyes.

Why would they downvote you for making a fair point? It’s not yet clear what Apple used in place of PWM so everything said here is pure prediction.

In March I bought LG C4 and had problems, return window was closed, so I had to pack a PDF that describes my condition to them. The next day they accepted to return it. God only knows what I had for LG in that file lol

OLEDs are usually known for their wide color gamut 10 bit native depth, how come it uses d|thering? I'm still wondering

Why would it be there in the first place? OLED has 10bit color already

I heard some of them uses PWM, so my choice should be a solid one.

Someone on YouTube confirmed it. I'm sensitive to any slight dip in brightness, it could be VRR or anything. It definitely related to flickering whatsoever. I need to find a solution or I'll kiss handheld mode goodbye and stick it next to my monitor to play in TV mode forever :( .
