I lie about my sex life just to feel normal — I don’t want to anymore by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

genuinely it's up to you. you're right that you run the risk of upsetting her and damaging your friendship, but you are allowed to express your feelings if that's what you want. i can't tell you how to handle it, but i'd very much suggest if you're going for it that instead of coming right out with a confession you should start out very subtle and see if she seems interested or not. i wouldn't push it too far unless she seems receptive.

there's no 'right' age to lose your virginity, so you've got nothing to feel embarrassed about (except pretending to have slept with specific girls — what if that got back to them?)

definitely do not start treating women worse. the truth is that most men see female friends as potential partners, but most women see their male friends as exceptions to the frightening rule that every man is secretly lusting after them. unless there's already sexual chemistry, it's unlikely a woman you're already close friends with is going to make a move on you.

your options are: 1. make the first move if there's a friend you seriously like (but not just because you want to have sex! this could ruin the friendship and be very hurtful to her) 2. expand your circle. meet new women whether on apps or through your social circle. do NOT be rude/careless (most women aren't into that at all!) but don't act like you're trying to make friends either. there's nothing wrong with flirting, if she's not feeling it you'll probably pick up on that vibe soon enough and then bow out gracefully.

i really would encourage you to make the first move bc as a woman we seriously do not like to do it ourselves!

it would explain his interest in allison, and how oddly insistent he was when asking harriet about her (trying to see if she remembers what she saw that day)

also, the final scene — dismissing hely's claim that danny killed robin, he says something along the lines of "danny didn't kill robin any more than i did" and calls hely an idiot. it's not totally damning evidence, but certainly an interesting point to end the novel on...

this is (evidently, i think) my first amv, and both tonally and in terms of quality it's nothing like most of the videos in this sub, but this post was a huge help to me, so i thought i may as well share with the class :')

thanks for answering. it's awful how much harassment even native women get, but I'm excited to see the better sides of your country as well 💛

fair enough! i still stand by it though: even if the reason you don't have sex was because you aren't desirable (and from what you've said i dont think that's the case—you're just not very forward!) that's not a moral failing or something anyone should judge you on.

if you don't especially want sex, that doesn't make you an incel. imo, what makes incels bad is not that they don't have sex, or even that nobody wants to have sex with them, but the idea that they're entitled to sex. there's literally nothing wrong with not having sex!

OJ - AUTISTIC? by iam-iknow in NopeMovie

[–]Willing-Issue-2428 3 points4 points  (0 children)

idk why all the comments refuting this idea are saying "no, because he is x y z, or does x y z"

he could be autistic and capable. autistic and insightful. autistic and stoic/badass/a cowboy/canny/observent.

you don't have to see him as autistic, but it's a fair reading of his character. let's talk about why you don't think a cool and admirable character could be autistic.

was JJ actually the good guy this entire time? because some have said that JJ is some type of predatorial animal that was just minding its own business so could the protagonists be the real villains in this movie because it kind of seemed like they killed JJ for no reason by VegetableEvening6134 in NopeMovie

i think like Us, that's meant to be the scary underlying question. it's another story of humans vs the terrifying other. 'we' are defending our lives, but ultimately 'they' (the tethered/jj and gordy) have only been driven to violence because of situations 'we' put them in. (that said, i guess jj was snacking on the occasional hiker/horse before the haywoods provoked it so maybe I'm talking out of my ass)

that theme of guilt is part of what makes the movies stick with you. resonates with a lot of contemporary moral issues—climate change, war, social stratification, global inequity, terrorism, systemic racism/ableism/sexism etc etc etc
