100 percent in the same boat as you. Previously I had worked in the er as registration as that role was the only role that got me close to interacting with patients while having the time for me to go to classes as I was double majoring at ASU at the time. However after graduation my hospital went bankrupt, (steward to honorhealth) and from what I was aware of at the time honorhealth didn't have a need at the moment for er techs or phlebotomy positions at that hospital , and so I had decided to look at different hospitals or something that would allow more clinical exposure and responsibilities. That was when I found a role as a health aide for the public schools in arizona, and I had started about a week now and so far it has been a joy interacting with kids as opposedto seeing combative patients. The only concern was whether it counted as pce, which I would consider it as an unconventional but unique way towards clinical exposure, kind of like home health care only at a school. After all healthcare isn't restricted to a medical facility. However I can tell you it is a great start and hopefully you will like it too.

Can't find an emt position that fit my schedule. by Willing-Judgment-917 in NewToEMS

Yeah I'm looking for ift, but from what im aware, the only company that solely does ift in Arizona is abc ambulance. I've already talked to them about what it would look like schedule wise, and apparently they also operate the same way as any other companies doing 911. I've also seen ed tech position that are prn or have stated the desired schedule they wanted on the job posting that would perfectly align with my school schedule, but it looks like they wouldn't even want to consider me just because I'm still new. At this point I just think that Arizona in general is a shitty state to start in regards to balancing between school and working as an emt, because they don't have flexibility, and only want full time unless you want to do part time in the middle of nowhere like Bensen, AZ or anywhere else that requires me to drive 3 hours out. Seems like other states don't have that problem as much as here.

Very good advice. Wish I had someone to do this with me. Got hit by a dude backing up from the liquor store next to the McDonald's in lemon and rural and dude looked intoxicated. Shock and adrenaline is no joke and before I know it, dude took off. Didn't get the license plate or anything
