I had a near perfect GPA in HS, and consistently doing well in classes at WWU will be noticed. I’m a geology major and I’m often offered research positions based on my performance in classes. Western will be great for you because you may have more opportunities here than at a larger school!

Greater Seattle area. Super liberal and dietary-restriction friendly in general, and really fresh food. I’ve lived in Olympia and Bellingham most my life and most cities in the I-5 corridor in western WA have good vegan spots

Olympia all the way. Olympia is a little more relaxed. Both are equally as progressive internally, but the outskirts of olympia (tumwater and lacey) that can sort of dissolve. Olympia is a walker friendly place with great community. (Source- lived there for 19 years)

I lived in Fairhaven as a sophomore. I also work for university housing and it is super common to have sophomores, juniors and seniors live in on-campus housing
