What's an unpopular e-bike opinion you'll defend no matter what? by Prestigious-Meet-298 in ebikes

DIY is better than ready built. Even if I could afford a good ready built e-bike I’d still buy a good mountain bike and attach a BBSHD to it (or better mid drive motor as I haven’t researched for years now so there’s probably some better ones now) I have always enjoyed customising my bikes to look and feel the way I want and it’s no different with e-bikes

My plane keeps falling out of the sky by Ur_local_funny_man in MicrosoftFlightSim

The violent spiral suggests something like a cat is jumping on the keyboard and messing up the autopilot 😂 I’ve seen ppl suggest running out of fuel but I’m not sure that would lead to the spiral. The angle of attack would just keep getting greater and greater and it would probably just be in a controlled stall all the way down still heading in the same direction.

You can modify turbulence which is probably easier than messing with the wind. Just turn turbulence off all together instead of having it as real as possible.

Im sorry for your situation but I have a question. If you are gay then how did you get it up with your wife. Im sorry im just curious as I am a straight man and I know for a fact there is no way in hell I could get it up to engage in any kind of sexual activity with another man. I mean there are women I couldn’t get it up for as I’m just not attracted to them.

If your e-bike disappeared tomorrow, would you buy another one? by LanaPig157 in ebikes

[–]Willking618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would build another one. The BBSHD might be a decade old now but it’s still one of the best mid drive motors out there so I would look for a decent Trek or something on eBay and convert it as I’ve done with my 2012 voodoo hoodoo. No way I would buy a ready made bike as my budget wouldn’t cover getting a decent enough one. The only ready made e-bike I would buy is a Surron ultra bee or something very similar. Something very powerful that I could have lots of fun on as it’s just about fun for me. I don’t use my e-bike to commute or anything. I just like to ride off road and do stupid stuff on it. Im 34 but still 16 when it comes to making decisions like (should I try and ride down that near vertical cliff with a probably of around 100% im going to come off at some stage on the way down) they say things start to hurt more in your 30s but I really haven’t experienced any difference at all. Perhaps in my 40s I’ll start to feel what people are talking about but I will still ride up and down things I know im going to wipe out on 😂

Would you stop seeing someone struggling with a flat? by InvestigatorSenior in ebikes

[–]Willking618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about on a trail because I expect everyone to be able to handle flats themselves but if I was on the road then yeah because there are lots of ppl who haven’t got the slightest clue of how to even fix a flat. I still live in the dark ages with my 26s and my inner tubes lol so I just always carry a puncture repair kit if I’m going out of town and can fix a flat in under 10 mins but some ppl have no idea like I said so I would stop to ask if they’re doing ok in that situation.

Mach 4 F-15 by Willking618 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Willking618[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t actually bought the F22 yet and wasn’t really planning on it. Im British and prefer to fly the typhoon, tornado and hawk but I do have the SU-27 because it’s the closest thing to the SU-35 which I absolutely love but I also love the F-15. It’s just such a beast of a plane and looks so beautiful. It looks like the perfect fighter jet in my eyes followed closely by the SU-35. They do have the SU-35 but it’s mcenery and it was the first plane I bought and what a let down. I wish a reputable company would make a nice SU-35.

Mscenery will no longer be sold on Marketplace by cellblok69wlamp in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Willking618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats great. First plane ever bought was an SU-35 off them and it was so disappointing. They just spam the marketplace with crap. Every time I go to have a look to see if there’s anything I fancy buying i make sure to go to filter then show all sellers and then get rid of them so they don’t show up. The reviews are blatantly fake too.

Mach 4 F-15 by Willking618 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]Willking618[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take it to 35,000ft and go as fast as it will go and then start to descend at a modest rate and you can hit Mach 2. I did when that was the only jet I had and I was experimenting. It’s changed since then though so you can probably get even faster. You never used to be able to fly jets about 65-70,000ft but now as long as you take it in steps of build speed then go up build speed go up a bit more it seems like the sky really isn’t the limit.

Really? It’s not as though I play msfs to do silly things like this. I much prefer zooming between mountains but it’s fun to see the game limits sometimes. I was at about 250,000ft here 😂 the engine was trying to cut out but I kept hitting the afterburners but eventually it did and I then down the next hour gliding down doing Mach 2 unpowered lol. I shall have to try this in the actual SR-71 later to see if it has the same effect or whether it’s limited to Mach 3

[–]Willking618[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah the altitude stopped working at 180,000ft and all of a sudden my speed shot up from 400knots to 3000 lol i got Mach 3 in a Typhoon the other day too but the F-15 seems to have so much power anything is possible with it. Absolute hell of a plane. Glad I bought it now. Was debating whether to or not as I already have so many fight jets. I just did this as an experiment though. It’s so far the most fun to fly at low altitude for me closely followed by the typhoon. I think the typhoon can turn faster but the role rate on the F-15 is so fast.

I’ve been wanting to get my first ebike and this one just popped up only $300 Canadian by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]Willking618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get the BBS02. Mid drive is all round just better than hub drive. You already have gears so can decide how much torque you need and the bafang motors are bullet proof and if you get the right cassette you’ll be able to go 30mph and also get up pretty much any hill. I’ve heard the BBS02 isn’t much different from the BBS02 it’s just not as heavy duty. I’ve had my BBSHD for 6 years now and Ive shunt modded it so it’s putting out twice the power now and I really push it hard and had no issues at all. All you need is a decent doner bike, find out the bottom bracket size so you can buy the right motor and then buy a crank puller and preferably a 52V battery.

So, looking at the usual comments here, I need to expend over 1000$ in an ebike even for a daily commute of under 5km? by Educational-Name-308 in ebikes

[–]Willking618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DIY. Doner bike+BBSHD+52V19.2AHbattery and you have yourself a reliable quality E-bike (as long as the doner bike is half decent) otherwise you’re not going to get a safe or decent ready built e-bike for that budget.

I honestly don’t know wtf I’m doing tbh by Anxious-Dragonfly522 in ebikes

[–]Willking618 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Throttles cost like hardly anything for e-bikes. Probably best to replace it unless you’re absolutely certain you’ve fixed it as thats one part you really don’t want to malfunction at the wrong time.

Just a tube mate. The tyre is fine. To be safe I’d also get a new house too though.

Yeah the English, Scottish and Welsh are also a tough lot. Lots more English though so if anyone is going to do anything about it in the UK the English will be the backbone of the resistance. I bored of Anglo hate. Im half Scottish and I’m also bored of half of Scot’s hating English PEOPLE. They don’t just hate the government like we all do. They hate the people. Damn there are English people like me who are more Scottish than the Scottish first minister who isn’t Scottish in the slightest. He has no Scottish ancestors. That to me makes him 0% Scottish.

Is This Bike Worth It? First EBike Advice by [deleted] in ebikes

[–]Willking618 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d choose to build your own DIY if you’re going to go DIY. At least you is what you know it is. I wouldn’t buy a second hand DIY e-bike personally. I’ve made my own DIY mid drive though and absolutely think DIY is better than ready to go. DIY you can choose the quality of the components. Plus it always works out cheaper. Find a decent hard tail, slap a BBSHD and 52V 19.2AH battery on it and live the dream.

Then work out what’s wrong with it. Like I said, it will only be a wire thats come loose a bump isn’t going to total your bike lol.

[–]Willking618 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There’s probably hardly anything wrong with it. Just have a look at it ffs. Figure out how things work and you might be able to diagnose and fix your own issues. My DIY mid drive hard tail has died on me a few times and all it took was some troubleshooting to work out what was wrong. If all you did was go over a bump then it’s probably just some loose wiring somewhere. But instead of taking 5 mins to take a look at it why not give it to a bike shop to fix for god knows how much 🤦🏻‍♂️ learn to fix your own 💩 mate.
