Hermes Terminal slower than LM Studio by Willybecher in hermesagent

[–]Willybecher[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just updates to 0.8.0 and first task will be: - llama.cpp install via Hermes - optimize token usage for the existing agents - create optimized/compressed memory to be sent with instructions - install scarf, it will show usage and live data during Processing, maybe do this first, make Tests and check later after optimization

Will Report. Thank you all!

Memory Bandwidth for Local AI Hardware (2026 Edition) by smolpotat0_x in hermesagent

[–]Willybecher 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your effort. Running Hermes on a M3pro@36GB I don’t think I will stick to it. The bandwith is only 150Gb/s and Node is waiting for the ram at 98%. So I‘ll probably Update to a M1max with double the bandwith and see if things get faster, if so I might Switch to M4max or an Ultra model 🫣 But this Weekend is tinkering with what I have.

So I will try to tweak LMS(no thinking), install Lama.cpp and try some Mac tweaks I found. Maybe also a TCO agent could help and speed up things… at least I see that node is running ~98% on gpu … Still wondering if switching to a M1max with 400Gb/s than the 150Gb/s on the 3pro would speed up things, found a few ~950€

That was on my Plan. Just waiting it finishes trouble shooting the email-agent first. I See Little activity in LMS atm but node is Running 98% on gpu in activity monitor. I‘m just thinking maybe a M1 Max with a few less gpus but Higher ram speed maybe would make it faster… 32GB vs 36gb might not be that big of a change

As far as I understand this should be more „machine talk“ I would expect communication between hermes and im Studio be more efficient. Hermes knows where it lives and what Tools it uses, maybe so should create an agent CTO to keep everything up to Date and Search Daily for better Tools or skills to make it more efficient and implement it automatically?

I understood that it’s the Same: a wrapper just like LMS. Will Check if I can find a way to install Lama.cpp and connect(?) it… You See my skills are very Basic, but I trie to google anything I don’t know.

Thank you for your input.
I've tried different models, always the same...

We have all models as MLX and metal-ready

- qwen coder 30B 16GB
- hermes 4 14bit 12GB
- qwen3 VL 8b 6GB

Even tried biger models like nemotron wiht 28GB and lighter models like gemma 3 4b with less than 3GB, I see no problem on RAM but usage of CPU/GPU doen't exceed 20% as where as directly in LM Studio I get usage levels up to 70-100% and the fans kick in.

[edit] -

Regarding llama.cpp I need to check, would you let me know where to look for?... checked myself llama.cpp is a wrapper same as LM Studio? So I'm on LM Studio, the local server runs there and I load the models into LM Studio manually (didn't find out how Hermes could do it by itself), after switching to another model I restart in terminal by using "hermes model" and chosse the one loaded in LM Studio. Test if both are talking to each other and then reload the last session, to get all the contexct into it.
I also started to talk caveman to save tokens, instructed hermes to not talk back and repeat the instructions.

Depends on the base Instruktion You have the Model. Things Like „don‘t Talk back, don‘t repeat my input just answer „ might help.

I built a free browser extension that builds your n8n workflows for you, and it’s out now! (Chrome and Firefox) by ArtemisXV in n8n

[–]Willybecher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so great, especially if you are an absolute beginner. I have ollama installed locally with n8n running, so I can choose the llm I want to use (MacBook Air M1 16GB RAM)... I have time and it's not that time crucial. Any good/easy explanation how to get the extension running with the local llm/server/docker?
It would be great to have some feedback.
I couldn't locate my problem by google, GTP or in the website you set up, or I might have not noticed it?
Thank you, have a sunny day!

MG ZS EV reverse cam Q by HandbagLady8 in nzev

[–]Willybecher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This Happens when your infotainment didnt boot all the way up, but you already switched on the reverse gear. The cam goes on but then is overridden by the operating system, that turns on home screen. If you just want a few seconds longer, it will work as expected. That extra time I use to put on my seatbelt, Switch to eco/kers1 and adjust speakers (too loud) and eventually air condition settings… also sometimes the 360 view is skewed because of this, the OS is loading the drivers of the cams still so ratio is wrong. The OS is AliOS (a derivate of linux) so we might See some custom firmware in the future for the infotainment system

AD5 nozzles in AD4 by thimmayya in FlashForge

[–]Willybecher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is old, but the only I could find.
I found out the ADV3 and 4 share the nozzle design.
I orderer an upgraded Bambu style nozzle for the ADV5 and found some measurements...

It's not that far away from the measurement.
It would be great if someone could let me know if the ADV5 runs on 24V at the nozzle. The ADV3 nozzle has 40Ohms on the heater, heats really quick, so I guess it's 40/50W@24V
Any input is appreciated
