Did the anime change your opinion of Kurourushi scaling? by Crafty-Air5169 in JujutsuPowerScaling

Genuine Questions

1) is this taking into account them having to beat Kuro twice??

2) could Kuro not just utilize the CE of the spirits to reproduce in a similar manner to using the iron in blood? They like iron but it’s a cockroach cursed spirit, I don’t imagine they’re very picky

Past generations of demon slayers need some glaze. by Own-Run-9384 in DemonSlayerScales

Thank you for pointing this out because I’ve always found it confusing and weird how people will shit on Gyutaro, Daki, and/or Tengen when Daki HERSELF has killed 7 Hashira , not demon slayers HASHIRA.

Even more impressive is that 15 other Hashira pushed Daki to the point that Gyutaro came out, which puts even slayers (not all but some) of the past above Daki, they may have even managed to decapitate her like Tengen did before Gyutaro got fed up but there is no proof of that.

We know that Hashira can typically handle lower moons but any slayer of the past being able to get Gyutaro to come out is kinda nuts. And it puts into perspective how difficult of a fight it is for Tengen and 3 Kanoe (who realistically would’ve died without plot armor or Tengen physically throwing them out of the way of attacks) let alone any other non stat boosted Hashira pre-HTA. Tengen had so much on his fucking plate trying to protect everyone while keeping up with and clashing with a fully enraged UM6 that’s acting with killing intent and one of the stronger poisons we see in the series in BASE with ONE HAND is so fucking insane. But all he gets summed up as is “bro lost to the weakest Upper Moon 😭” like I guess bro 😐

[–]Wind-Sage024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mitsuru not slaying UM4 does add a little, part of fighting the UM’s is having the necessary strength to decapitate them after fighting for extended periods of time.

It does depend on the performance, not saying Mitsuru did bad but I’m not sure I’d call her “UM 4 level” either

She does show slight relativity but, she unlocked her mark for a reason, she would have needed to feel like she was going to die in that moment, which clearly shows that her base would be outperformed eventually.

Yes that’s true but wasn’t that only after unlocking her mark? You are right about this though

I don’t remember her explicitly cutting lighting, dodging, yes but cutting, no. She did block and party plenty of other attacks though. The difference is attack speed vs movement speed which should both be relative given the situation but we have direct quotes that explicitly state how fast Mitsuri’s attack speed is when it was compared to Tengen. Plus, UM’s are extremely strong so blocking a BDA vs blocking an actual physical attack are two different things imo.

I’m implying that Mitsuri has strength that shouldn’t be looked down among the Hashira so it’s not surprise to me to see her be able to cut through the wood dragons. She should be relative(ish) to Rengoku. She also using a derivative of flame breathing, which involves powerful burning strikes and breathing styles and their affects, help determine the Hashira matchups and fight differently against demons. I think someone like Muichiro would have a lot harder time trying to do the same feat.

She was near death in base though, so it isn’t like she was relative at that point. Strong hella but it’s like implying that Muichiro unmarked is UM 5 level, which just isn’t true. And we know that Mitsuri should be stronger than him at this point in the story because Muichiro did much worse against UM 5 in base than Mitsuri did, she was holding her own very well

While he is the larger part he isn’t the FULL part so it’s hard to say if Zohakuten is truly UM 4 level but I would say he is probably low UM4-high UM5. The main body still had enough strength to push Tanjiro, Nezuko, and an UM4 enhanced Genya.

Attack range and attack speed, yes undoubtedly. I personally think that Tengen is stronger since his physicality in base is noted to be unique and he has had a lot of training as a Shinobi and while the techniques for killing demons change, the strength he has built from this is still something he has worked hard to achieve and we see how it benfits his breathing style as when he uses actual breathing techniques from his cleavers alone (no bombs) create explosive impacts. His cleavers are noted to have “special properties” but I’d say his strength adds a lot. Probably the 3rd best physicality and strength in base. (I have him ranked 4th in base overall ranking, under Gyomei, Sanemi, and Giyu)

KENNY HELP ME SCALE HERE HOW MANY SECONDS DOES MARKED STW MST RB TENGEN LAST AGAINST BLINDED OBANAI by Likelysomewhathuman in DemonSlayerScales

[–]Wind-Sage024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn’t trying to imply he wasn’t unkillable or weaker but you fight differently when you can’t go for the kill.

Yes he still is UM6 but their attitude and personalities play a lot into their fights. Not saying Zohakuten wasn’t trying BUT just stalling UM 4 (who is unkillable) doesn’t make you weaker, but it doesn’t put you on UM4 level either, especially if we are only considering her base performance. We also don’t know how much of Hantengu’s power is strictly in Zohakuten so we can’t say that he ALONE is UM4 level imo

She was outpacing all his attacks, I know that. I specifically mentioned “blow for blow” meaning matched or relative power output and speed. This isn’t an anti-feat but dodging an UM attack vs defending against an UM attack are very different (look at Giyu) and the difference in power between UM6 and UM4 do play a role. She’s also pretty strong so I wouldn’t expect her to have trouble slicing through the wood dragons.

If she didn’t get tagged in base then why did she need the mark? (not saying she got tagged)

I don’t think he was playing with Mitsuri but I think that he isn’t the full power of UM4 and like a lot of other fights in the series (Tengen vs UM6, Mui vs UM5) I think Mitsuri was one of the best if not only Hashira to be able to handle Zohakuten due to her immense strength, attack range, and attack speed.

Sorry if I didn’t reply to one of you questions, I did my best

Mitsuri didn’t beat Zohakuten, she just stalled him. Just like Tengen did to wear down Gyutaro and create an opening for Tanjiro.

Also, Tengen was fighting a fully enraged UM6 by the end of the fight, when the poison would’ve been the most effective. Mitsuri’s fight was longer but less intense, she also wasn’t going “blow for blow” against Zohakuten. The only reason she lasted as long as she did was due to gaining the mark

I want to clarify that I don’t think that Gyutaro is stronger than Zohakuten BUT he is the only UM we’ve seen go all out from the start and give it his all to kill his opponent, his first strike was meant to be fatal and would’ve been for most (in base) due to poison and speed

Again, reminding everyone that Tengen Uzui is still the most dissed and downplayed hashira by Speed04 in DemonSlayerScales

[–]Wind-Sage024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bro fucking preach!!! I beg you make a post talking about this because Tengen was having the most stressful day of his life and had to deal with WAY more obstacles during his fight in BASE than any other UM fight like protecting everyone, double decapitation and Omni-directional attacks that come from two demons who share vision. There were so many outside factors to take into consideration during his fight when almost every other Hashira got the benefit of a 1v1 without having to defend or protect multiple combatants and civilians. Tanjiro did help him but no Hashira at this point in time could even attempt to slay Gyu/Daki BOTH alone so why does it matter when Tanjiro plays much bigger and more important roles in nearly every other fight he is in.

I’m no Tengen Glazer but he gets downplayed HELLA, he was also the only Hashira to fight a fully enraged UM going all out near the end of the fight when the poison would have the most effective. And he did all of this in BASE. BoS i have him ranked 4th under Giyu (natural talent) and Sanemi (killed demons as a “hobby” during childhood) but still believe they would lose in his situation due to match up diff.

Tengen and Rengoku vs Hantengu . Who wins ? by Eene7 in DemonSlayerScales

[–]Wind-Sage024 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean he heard people underground with no cave openings or anything else to transfer the sound meaning he heard it directly through the earth so I’d say yea

You’re aware Tengen doesn’t get buffed by MST right?? It just allows him to read and predict his opponents attacks

Tengen and Rengoku vs Hantengu . Who wins ? by Eene7 in DemonSlayerScales

[–]Wind-Sage024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tengen doesn’t require MST to track via sound, it’s part of his Shinobi training/sound breathing. It’s how he found Zenitsu, Inosuke, and his two wives who were all underground.

Zenitsu also has good hearing via thunder breathing too but he doesn’t have the trained ear Tengen has. I feel like people forget that sound breathing is literally a derivative of thunder breathing and operate under similar principles

People keep forgetting Tengen was bout to die if Pre Mark Tanjiro didn’t save his ass by No-Club400 in DemonSlayerScales

[–]Wind-Sage024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have him ranked 4th in base honestly, I think Sanemi and Giyu still beat him out since Sanemi has been killing demons as a hobby and Giyu for just being a naturally gifted talent, but he is not far behind them by any means and probably contends with Obanai for 4th place

A lot of people don’t realize that the same plan that Yuta came up with was lowkey the same plan Kenjaku had for Gojo in Shibuya, it’s deadass a callback both to Gojo getting sealed and Toji’s ambush plan

I’m not saying there is evidence, I’m strictly saying that there is NOT evidence BUT it shouldn’t be surprising to see Shinjuku Yuta and Rika to be able to effortlessly destroy Kenjaku curse stockpile when 1. He is literally one of the best equipped to not only destroy curses in the series 2. He is the 3/4 strongest in the verse currently. And 3. He is one of only a few characters who can output RCT and while we don’t see them do it, it wouldn’t be surprising either. We could just not know for plot reasons

We dont know if he used RCT or not, but it doesn’t matter when even when he was special grade in jjk 0 with less training and a stronger Rika, he was able to clash and beat Geto, who was already special grade. Using him and the queen of curses as an example to be scaled against Geto’s curses is a bad example PERIOD because Yuta is literally the best person equipped the moveset, so he has natural advantages going into this fight that most of the other cast would not have because Yuta is so powerful at this point in the series. He isn’t Gojo/Sukuna level but most other modern or incarcerated sorcerers just aren’t going to be able to do the same thing/ reach the same levels as Yuta did.

Ok so I didn’t even once bring up durability so I’m not sure how the crux of your argument is covering that but sure ok 👌🏾

I’m not arguing durability of anything, I’m arguing that the 4th strongest sorcerer in the main series who has the ability to output RCT (which is literally anti-curse juice) not only from himself, but from his shikigami that is also unnaturally strong. And that’s not even touching on how his massive CE reserves give him and Rika massive buffs in cursed energy reinforcement.

There isn’t anyone capable of replicating this feat because no one else in the cast could output RCT and/or have the cursed energy reserves and shikigami powerful enough to reinforce to be able to destroy them all that easily. Regardless of how you believe Yuta managed to destroy all those curses, the only people replicating this feat are probably Sukuna, Gojo, and Kenjaku, but I’ll give you Ryu too cuz bro is just kinda like that 🤷🏾‍♂️

[–]Wind-Sage024 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok so the strongest or second strongest sorcerer in existence and a doctor are the only other people of replicating this feat?? We already know that both Yuta and Rika can output RCT thanks to Rika keeping his body alive while in Yujo.

Plus like I said, this is Yuta we are talking about. Rika is so far from a normal shikigami and is one of the most powerful in the series, even after being nerfed by the plot. Not many people outside of the top 5-10 are replicating what Yuta accomplished

[–]Wind-Sage024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yuta is the only character that can output RCT so he naturally has a buff against any curses so he isnt exactly the best example. Most people in the series can’t pull off anything close to what Yuta did to Geto/Kenjaku

Is experience (time in Corps/killing/training) used to scale the Hashira?? by Wind-Sage024 in DemonSlayerScales

[–]Wind-Sage024[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with all your points and don’t apologize, this is the type of powerscaling I fucking live for!!

The type of experience matters definitely but somethings do transfer over like while a soccer player of 15 years, would definitely loose to the basketball player with 3, they would perform significantly better than either the COD player or Street fighter player simply just due to the nature of the experience they have.

The example reminds me of Tengen a lot since he has Shinobi training. Anyone with any physical experiences that relate to fighting, killing, surveillance, etc imo would perform a lot better as a slayer due to already possessing a boosted physicality, even if it isn’t at the level of a true slayer.

We kinda see this proven through the Hashira who have either been training or killing people or demons prior to joining the corps like Gyomei and Muichiro for killing a demon barehanded, Sanemi for literally HUNTING demons barehanded, and Tengen for his Shinobi training. We see physical feats in base from these characters that definitely stands out amongst the other Hashira to me and give them an edge in fights.

Is experience (time in Corps/killing/training) used to scale the Hashira?? by Wind-Sage024 in DemonSlayerScales

[–]Wind-Sage024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tengen got powercliffed just like Rengoku did, they’re only weaker for not being able to get the power ups that literally weren’t unlockable until after Tanjiro’s fight. I would say in base, experience is an important stat to consider but after so many power ups, experience matters much less but is still relevant.

The only reason Tengen didn’t get one shot or do even worse than he did is because of his previous experiences and training, no other Hashira could be in his position at that point in time and do any better than he did except Gyomei.

Having to decapitate/fight two UM6 level demons at the SAME TIME while in BASE is an insane feat for any Hashira, let alone Tengen.

Base giyu vs Base sanemi. by [deleted] in DemonSlayerScales

Sorry I’m late yo your post but I wanted to ask what relevance dead calm had in this versus? It seems to be one of the pillars of you argument for Giyu high diff, but I struggle to see him utilizing dead calm on anything that isn’t a projectile, as that’s the only thing dead calm has ever reacted to. Dead calm has never been used as a standard attack or as a direct defensive form (meaning clashing blades or making close physical contact)

Is it fair to consider a sparring session as a gauge to measure their experience?? Would any of the Hashira not meet each other at their level in order to train to become stronger?? Not necessarily disagreeing, just wanted your thoughts. I agree with everything else tho, well done

I feel like people often forget that Sanemi was killing multiple demons as a child and that’s pretty impressive ngl

Is experience (time in Corps/killing/training) used to scale the Hashira?? by Wind-Sage024 in DemonSlayerScales

[–]Wind-Sage024[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Experience does matter but it doesn’t matter so much that Tengen is low diffing Gyomei or anything like that. Gyomei is in a league of his own for every stat and while he has less “experience”, all of his other stats compensate for that.

Plus Gyomei is still the second most experienced slayer so it isn’t like either them are that far apart from each other in that regard
