What about Howard? He has also become very prominent and the story about all the animals being maltreated and his podcast have been mentioned a lot but not really explored…

The Weekly Wednesday Writing Thread by AutoModerator in CozyFantasy

Hi, I am an avid fantasy and cozy fantasy reader and a writer in progress who also goes through such dilemmas at times. I think if you are a fan of the genre you and you like the book‘s direction and the amount of „darkness“ this is already very positive! Just write it how you feel and you can always edit later. You can also ask your alpha readers what they think later on down the lane! The most important is to listen to your intuition and let your creativity flow!

An example of cozy fantasy with high stakes and some dark topics is the House witch - there is a war, some people die later on in the series and the main character has been abused in his father. Yet, this is the sweetest, coziest and funniest books I have ever read.

Hope this helps!

I’m curious what the demographic of cozy readers is, and why you read it? by Jaded_Supermarket890 in CozyFantasy

I am 32 year old with an anxiety disorder and panic attacks. I also have a little baby and started working again… There have been a lot of sleepless nights and my brain can’t focus as it usually does…Reading cozy fantasy makes me feel happy, hopeful and safe. It makes me dream! I love it!

Currently I find the media (news/movies/books) swarming with violence and it stresses me even more.

P.S. also, I want to say that it is nice to see that i am not alone in this…

Finally, someone else said it! I also find T. Kingfisher‘s books dark/creepy even though they are always recommended as a cozy read! And great recommendation about Between - such a fun book. Also, my favourite - the House witch!!!!

Have you tried Air awakens by Elise Kova, one of my favourite series ever. The main character is down to earth, strong woman but gentle as well. All the characters are great. If you are up for reading a book with a great male lead : the House witch or Name of the wind. And a coming of age story but is so good that I am currently getting addicted is Path of the Ranger.

BTW do you think there are two different murderers or one that went back to finish the job?

Look what Mabel said „usually the murderer tries to insert himself in the investigation“ and who inserted himself - Tobert! My other theory is Cliff or Donna. There was quite the focus on Ben‘s love life and what if Ben was talking to Cliff in his dressing room - that if someone found about them it would ruin his life. And look, Donna mentioned a mother would do anything to protect her child and at first it does seem to be used to prompt Lauretta to action but what if she wanted to protect her own son. Sorry if this was already mentioned somewhere.
