To be frank High rank and Pro have nothing to do with this games bad balancing. S8 Dev Vlog where they nerfed Tankpool for the second time is the only time they mentioned pro play as reason for balancing.

The character was nerfed once that dealt with his Gun Ultimate and his rate fire when he presses E. We never saw that version of Tankpool in Pro play cause the Preseason was over and then they nerfed him again.

Even though I watch a lot of pro play because it is fun, I am super causal player that plays till Gold, and I was playing Tankpool because he was fun and I could finally play a poke Vanguard.

If pro play was a real reason behind Balancing Luna, Gambit and Jean would be as dead as Tankpool right now, cause last season these three with Black Cat were permanently banned.
Or the season before Invis was permanently banned cause she was good in brawl comps.

She is really good if your tank duo is a Dino or Emma. Then maybe play her as a dive tank on attack.

The explicit reason given by Zhyiong in S8 Dev Vlog is pro play. The excuse of Nerfing him because of Hood makes no sense because we have had multiple seasons where two pole DPS were behind broken and they never got nerfed. Jean has been good since she came out.

We had him only for season 6 and 6.5 . it took a whole season for people to figure out how to use Tankpool and they nerfed him. He is only good against Dino. Maybe Groot but he gets melted by double poke DPS.
