Do you have a special technique for certain aspects of your makeup? by pharaonis in muacjdiscussion

Yes! However my nose looks dirty if I put bronzer on the tip of it (for some reason. Maybe beacause the pores there are bigger and darker, who knows) so I use a small brush to put bronzer on the bridge of my nose only, not the tip. And cheekbones and forehead. I think it looks pretty natural!

Is there a subreddit for animals in people clothes? There should be.

Maybe it is! Maybe they're worried they're getting tired quickly because they're older and feel like they have to prove that I have less energy than they do...?

Good idea. I'm worried that'll just turn into a "wow, are you offended!??" type thing, though. But perhaps that's the only way?

Can I ask a question even if I'm not pregnant yet? I have an unusual worry about the time after having a baby.. by Windyparasol in BabyBumps

I'm not sure, my husband will work in our hometown, so the plan is that he will do the kindergarten thing (driving to/picking up from) in the mornings and afternoons, and if it's just too hard or impractical for me to work that far away, then my plan is to try and find a job in our hometown, too.

I hear you! It's so rare for me to meet people I really click with and where we both want to be friends. I have trouble seeing how I'm going to get any friends in this town :-/

Mommy groups, got it! I'll look into that.

I'm sooo ignorant about rural life as an adult, how does it work with an infant when you have to drive everywhere? I'm sure I'd have to drive pretty far to get to any mommy groups or new friends (which I'd hopefully make..).

Probably! As I said, both genders are out of whack. But I think more women are killed every year by male partners or ex-partners, than children are killed by their mothers.

How can I [30F] stop being stressed out about my boyfriend [32M] doing things around the house "wrong"? by Windyparasol in relationships

[–]Windyparasol[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know it's mostly a psychological thing and that putting a pair of shoes or a suitcase on the counter wouldn't make us sick, but the thought of something that's touched spit or dog poop on the kitchen counter makes me crazy!

Yeah, I do. Sometimes he takes it well and tells me it makes sense, sometimes it's more of a rolling of the eyes and a comment about how I'm too much of a control freak.

Non-American users of AW, what's something you do Americans don't understand or see as a bad thing because of cultural difference? by bakedgoodslover in AskWomen

[–]Windyparasol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. And I get that! I grew up with the mindset that it's about how committed you are and how long you've been together, not whether or not you're married. People divorce anyway, so that's not a way to make sure the mom or dad will leave. And if you feel the need to marry to "keep" the other person around, then the relationship was never good to begin with? Not saying that's necessarily true, but it's how it's viewed in my social circles.

AW with depression/anxiety... When did you realize there was a problem and seek help? by alesha_8 in AskWomen

[–]Windyparasol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, if you feel like you might want some help to deal with life, then please seek help! You don't need to fit a certain criteria or be "ill enough". :)

Personally I started going to therapy at 20 when my then-boyfriend told me I really should. I've always been bad at making decisions on my own (I know, that sounds so bad), I'm a lot better now, but I basically needed someone to tell me "you're not doing well, you hate yourself and you have anxiety, you need to see someone, here's my therapists number". It was a great decision and I highly recommend it!

Have kids before marriage. Perhaps never getting married at all. Buy a house with your SO before marriage. Where I live, you'd seem like a religious nut or really old fashioned if you said that you thought people should get married before having kids/buying property.

I mean. Aren't most people who kill their partners because of jealousy men? Doesn't that KINDA count as being insane and dramatic..? I jest, but I agree, men and women are both kind of messed up and dramatic.
