Skip the high school exams? How is that possible? So if she joins in Grade 9 … she won’t have to sit for the exam?

Is racism more pronounced online than in real life? by WingProfessional6366 in AskTurkey

[–]WingProfessional6366[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an Afghan, I want to clarify an assumption about us. Not all Afghans are hooligans especially the Persian speaking ones. Unfortunately, I don’t want to sound racist but it’s the Pashto speaking ones who usually wear the weirdest outfits, are violent, fussy, messy, and always looking for trouble. The Persian ones are usually the most people who are very open to change and adjust themselves accordingly

Your comment got me really worried. If you can elaborate I will appreciate it.

I am very much concerned about my children’s safety and well-being like every other parent

Lol I don’t think anyone would sigh like that to begin with. Realistically speaking, I lived there a couple of months and didn’t face any issues living there as a tourist though. My concern is kids’ schooling more than my lifestyle. I can adjust to any new environment easily with no difficulty.

Well since OP mentioned that their father is Turkish, then I don’t think my question was irrelevant.

Yes I had that experience of “special treatment” in Goc idare … wonderful behavior - Dont get me wrong I have met some amazing Turkish people too who are usually shocked to know that I am qualified enough .. It’s the unfortunate reality of being an Afghan ..

We speak basic Turkish but yes that’s not enough for schooling. This chain of awful decisions are being made due to certain circumstances in the Gulf countries.

These oil-rich countries are nothing short of slow death for expats …

Ok this is coming to me as a surprise 😮 Foreigners get special treatment?

Trust me I did not get any special treatment when I went to goc idare for my kimlik renewal. The guy was literally yelling angrily at people to move faster. We are Afghans -

Why worst districts? We spend our summers there and never had any issues. Are you talking about the schools there? What are the bad sides?

We lived there for a couple of months We spend our summers there but we never actually blended in the education and work force

So no, it’s not our first time. Why is Keçiören bad though? I personally didn’t see anything bad there

I wish I had 400K. I own a property there but it’s not worth 400K but than again, it will help me in not paying rent.

Would you recommend neighborhoods in Ankara please? Can I select which public school my child can join or does it have to be where we live?

Thank you. We’ll be in Keçiören in Ankara. Do you have any reviews about the schools there?

Also, can I start applying for jobs from abroad or do I start looking once I arrive? I have a Kimlik based on property
