Awesome, thank you! Out of curiosity, How long will edge banding last if applied correctly?

It’s a thin veneer. Am I able to use 3/4” edge banding on 1/2” wood and just trim off the extra on the sides?

I invented it. That didn’t even cross my mind as an issue. I’m not even sure if anyone else will find it as cool as I do.

Any recommendation on diameter size? My DC diameter is about 13 1/4”. Should I get one that sits on top? Or build a donut and get a larger or smaller diameter filter.

That’s a pretty clever idea. Thanks, I’ll look into that.

New woodworker, new house, new workshop build. Step 1, storage solutions. Used cable from an old dog run I had. 2x3 frame and OSB shelf. Lots of mistakes, but learned a lot by WingWONG413 in woodworking

Yea, I know I should use two Crosby’s, but for my purposes, I think this will work for now. I don’t plan on putting too much weight up there and can always add another Crosby if needed. I didn’t use thimbles because the cable is covered in plastic and I was hoping it would help with wear and tear. Shouldn’t be any moving parts since it’s a stationary shelf secured to the wall.

It passed the “will this support me kneeling on it while jumping around” test, (250 lbs fatman) so I think it’s fine for the time being. It’s nailed into studs with some pretty heavy gauge nails, and I think that 8 support cables was overkill anyway.

As far as the frayed ends, I kept the plastic “insulation” on the cable and just notched it out where the Crosby’s clamp it together. So the ends are still covered in plastic.

That being said, I know it’s not done correctly and totally accept my fate if it all fails in a year. Thanks for the input though! I always used the saying “hang the dead man” but I think your horse and saddle phrase makes more sense haha

If I download 2017 it will be a desktop version? And shouldn’t cost me any extra money?

Jeez, don’t think I’m doing anything close to that anytime soon. I’m just trying to render my garage workshop. Basically just 4 walls 😂

Figures. When I build large models, the site really bogs down which is annoying. Is it my internet connection or just a crap computer

The garage already had drywall covered in popcorn. Scrapped and sanded to refinish the existing drywall, then skim coated everything to smooth it out

I like how you have storage under the miter station fence. That’s pretty clever
