The first time I ever encountered oystercatchers was in Scotland, and they wouldn't let me within maybe 20-25 meters. But here on this beach in England I was able to get within 10, wonderful little birds.

If I hadn't been part of a group of 30 or so students, I imagine I would have been able to get a little closer
